Jim’s tutoring skills are simply first class. I had been dabbling with playing guitar for going on 20 years (self taught with a host of bad playing habits). I had hit a progressive wall so decided to get some lessons to get me through it. Over 5 years later i’m still having them. Fun, informative (incredibly patient.....i’m not the worlds greatest student), ultimately, Jim has opened up my playing to new musical styles and techniques, expanding my musical creativity and enjoyment of the instrument. Jim has been teaching my kids to play guitar for about 6 years. 100% reliable & 100% professional. Patient regardless of whether he's teaching a small child or stroppy teenager! He gets on to the stuff they want to play really quickly so they don't lose interest - everything from classic rock to movie themes. Would highly recommend Jim to teach any age, any level. More...

Jim has been teaching me for over 3 years now. I am nearly 50 and I always wanted to learn the electric guitar. I have so far after 3 years passed my Grade 1 to 4 exams all with "Merit" or above ; and that's all testament to Jim's excellent teaching skills, patience and attention to detail. I am currently working towards Grade 5 and its given me renewed confidence as I was never particularly strong at music or playing instruments at school.
