Highly recommend. Since having lessons with Joe I can honestly say my playing, and also my understanding of the guitar and music has come on leaps and bounds. A relaxed environment, Joe's patience and a wealth of musical knowledge, coupled with the fact that he is an awesome player has helped me progress no end. I would encourage anyone keen to start learning, or progress further with their playing, to get in touch. More...

Joe is a great teacher and facilitator. He has a wonderful skill of being able to explain on all levels and to find different ways to engage you and to support your development. His lessons have variety and because he is familiar with many genre you get to play yummy tunes. He exudes musicianship and supports you to develop yours in the following ways : by focussing on the technique of playing your instrument for example guitar or bass, by encouraging deeper listening/eartraining in the most unintimidating way and by supporting you to learn to read music or to consolidate skills you might already have. Because of his approach, I feel like I make progress and develop a skill during and after each lesson. I recommend Joe as a teacher whether you or your child are a beginner or whether intermediate/advanced.Some people just have the knack and Joe is one of those people. Music is clearly one of his passions and he exudes that in his teaching. I hope that as many people as possible get the opportunity to be guided on a musical journey by him.I enjoy his lessons ++ More...

I really look forward to my guitar lessons every week! I have been with Joe for just over a year now and he is the most patient teacher I have ever come across in any subject! Joe tailors the lessons to the individual. I started with very limited knowledge or experience and have recently done a piece which is grade 4 equivalent. Joe is happy to take requests from me to suit my taste but at the same time also introduces pieces which will help me with building my skills to then enable me to play the pieces I really like. I come out of each lesson feeling energised even after a long day at work. I would recommend Joe to anyone as I was hooked from the first session. His calm, patient and encouraging approach really suit adult learners as well as children. I am also still impressed by how amazing of a guitar player Joe is every time he plays! More...

I love my guitar lessons! I have been going to see Joe at Guitar London for more than two years now and I have learned so much in that time. Joe tailors the lessons to suit my music taste and helps me learn the songs I really want to learn. Joe is very patient and encouraging and his passion for music is infectious. My lesson is a highlight of the week and 30 minutes is just right. I would (and do!) recommend Joe and Guitar London to anyone looking to get into (or return to) playing the guitar. More...

I had never even held a guitar before meeting my tutor Joe for the first time - and I’ve enjoyed every moment. Learning a new skill is always daunting, but Joe is such an easy going, friendly teacher - with an uncanny knack of explaining things in a way that makes sense. Joe is a great teacher - and will have you playing basic songs from your first couple of lessons - adding more and more techniques and chords, etc. as you progress.I have no hesitations about awarding a 5 star rating - and I know you will enjoy your time learning guitar as I am! Having learnt from Joe in London, I found him a technically proficient and patient teacher and a really nice guy as well! I spent more than a year learning from him, starting from a complete beginner, and I enjoyed every lesson tremendously . Joe has an excellent repertoire of songs to challenge you every week and you'll feel that you've learnt a heck lot even after a short half-hour session. Go grab a lesson with Joe before he's all booked up! More...

Q&As

We love watching the students learn. It is always gratifying when a student begins to play the song they've always wanted to learn. The look on their face is one of our favorite parts of the job. The sense of accomplishment they have, and the doors that open to their playing after they reach that point, maybe as wonderful for the teacher as well as the student!

We offer the best instructors that are found in Birmingham.
