Went for a meal yesterday with the family, ordered 'stuffed chicken'... It was absolutely delicious! I have to say I haven't had a meal like that in a long time. Tender chicken, tasty garlic and white wine stuffing with asparagus and broccoli. Will be returning again very soon! More...

This place is the best around. We booked for our sons 18th birthday and there were 21 of us. The service and the food was 1st class. Nothing to much trouble and a great environment. The staff were great and attended all our needs. Definitely recommend for that family occasion. More...

Pleasantly surprised as it is very contemporary but still atmospheric in its approach to the connection of its past. Friendly staff and quality real ales, gin bar etc. Food smells nice too! Well worth a visit. More...

My son, grandson and myself went tonight for tea. We had a bit of a wait but the food was excellent and the staff were super nice. We were given 10% off the bill for the wait as well as several apologies. All in all it was a thoroughly enjoyable meal More...

Been for the very first time tonight. I will definitely be coming back. My wife and myself both had Chicken dinner which was extremely tasty, hot, and with a fantastic Yorkshire pudding, was a delight. We will return very soon and bring our two boys. Thank you. More...

Great food, really well done, especially the pizza. We had one of the specials too (chicken and bacon pie) would highly recommend. Staff were great too, attentive, friendly and accommodating. Overall, the experience was 5 star and well worth the money. More...

Called in on Sunday afternoon with my Grandson for a beer and decided to check out the menu for the evening.
I booked a table for 5 and what a great choice I made.
The atmosphere was friendly and we'll laid out.
The staff were excellent.
Now the food OMG it was a great choice and the quality was first class.
I realise that Dantes may not be a name the new management want go hear but forget the past
The Halfway House is the new kid on the block and is well worth a visit.
I 100% recommend this place.
Thank you all for your hard work.
See you soon.

Since being taken over by Richard Tarran, The Halfway House is going from strength to strenth. The team are friendly and welcoming and they do a cappucino that's to die for. I would definitely return and can highly recommend. More...

A nice pub and restaurant conveniently located just off the A6 with nearby motorway links to the M6, M61 and M65. A Travelodge is located around the back of the pub too. The area is seperated into a decent sized bar and pub with sports channels and a seperate integrated restaurant. Food tends to be nice be it from the pub or the restaurant and the atmosphere is cozy. The staff are pleasant and welcoming. More...

Good food at decent prices. There are steps to most of the dinning area, so please be aware. We had a large group with separate bills - they didn't come around to take payments, and accused just of trying to run off when we were waiting to pay at the til. We had plenty of time to dump and run if we really wanted to - we were waiting a long time to pay... But we were waiting with cash in hand. More...

Went for a birthday meal. They catered for a huge group brilliantly. People that had steaks said they were cooked as they'd asked for, which is a task in itself with a large group. The staff were great. The bar was busy but well run with little waiting time. All round good venue More...

Went here a few weeks ago for a family meal. We we greeted quickly and seated at our table. We had a baby with us and we're offered a high chair which came quickly. We had to ask for menus after being seated for over 5 minutes... which assuming as they weren't that busy they'd forgotten about us. However after that, the service was quick and efficient and the food was good quality and reasonably priced. Drinks and food came quickly and the food appeared to be freshly made. More...

Ordered all the tapas between 4, a little on the greasy side but very nice, if I had been enjoying the nice wines on offer I wouldn't have noticed the grease on the garlic bread
