What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The secret to a great photograph is a mixture of vision and timing. Its important to have an image in your mind but equally, one must be ready to take advantage of those decisive moments.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I always ask a potential client what they want to achieve with a photographic project. I'm interested in how someone feels about an event and what it means to them, be it a wedding or a sporting event.
What do you love most about your job?
I love making images!
Its particularly rewarding to see a scene or an activity and visualise the image that presents itself. I really enjoy engaging with people and being involved in their world. This is particularly so with weddings where I feel immensely privilaged to have been invited into the best day of a couple's life.
And of course the thrill of seeing someone's reaction to an image I have made is very special
What inspired you to start your own business?
I've always loved taking pictures. The business side has evolved really, firstly with friends and family asking me to take portraits or shoot weddings and later through my wanting to stretch myself by taking on projects. I began approaching companies and making proposals for photographic commissions, this enabled me to grow as a photographer but also to encounter many new and exciting challenges. Ultimately running my own photography business was the next logical step

I'd hope my clients choose me because they love the style and substance of my images. I know though that reliability, professionalism and flexibility play an equally important role. In short, I deliver what the client needs.
