Avoid this company!
On 8th January the lock jammed on the communal entrance door, used by tenants on a property we let. We needed to get it sorted quickly. We were quoted £70.00 over the phone by AM London. Although we called a Harrogate number, they came from Bradford, so we had to wait a while. Eventually 2 guys turned up, they changed the lock and presented us with a bill of £190.00! If we didn't pay we wouldn't get any keys. We were forced to pay there and then. The locksmiths were not only a bit threatening in their behaviour but also didn't know what they were doing. The lock was of a poor quality and was fitted incorrectly and didn't actually work, so we couldn't lock the door. I had to take a morning off work the next day to wait for another locksmith from AM London to refit it. On top of that, when the old lock was taken out, because the locksmiths are completely inexperienced they ripped out all the electrics for the automated telecom entry system! Which is going to end up costing hundreds. Although complaining directly to AM London, they can not be bothered to reply. Too busy ripping off other people and taking full advantage of the situation they are in.
A word of advice , do your homework and call a decent local company -I wish I had!
I will be reporting them to Trading Standards via consumer service support - my insurance company were pretty interested to hear about what happened also, as was my bank (to be made to make a payment under duress is illegal)and will be advising further. I suggest anyone else who has the misfortune of dealing with a company like this, takes action and reports them through the appropriate channels.

Locksmith put glue in both my locks after letting me in, apparently because he was disgruntled that I questioned the price! !! Absolutely the most dishonest service I have ever seen. Avoid at all costs!!! Total scum.

The guy took an hour to arrive, straightaway tried to charge me more than double the price on the basis that it would be a "complex job." First said he'd have to drill the lock out and damage it, and that was somehow the simplest option. In the end, he only used a plastic sheet to get the door open. Didn't seem to have a picker gun on hand which is what I've seen used elsewhere. He couldn't explain how the price is calculated, or what services would be provided for the advertised £59 rate, which was the rate confirmed on the phone. I had to argue over the price, call the office to complain, etc. Eventually I paid what I thought I would, but not without a fight. Dishonest approach and opaque / arbitrary pricing scheme, but that's nothing compared to what came after the service!

DISHONEST AND UNQUALIFIED!

I wish I have read the reviews before calling them, but unfortunately, when you call this type of service your are usually in a hurry. ..

As stated by others, the initial £59 charge quickly escalated to £120 to drill the lock - the guy came in, tried to open the door for about 5 minutes using those plastic kits, by the way I had to point out that he needed to use the door handle at the same time, otherwise he would just break the door... He was quick in saying that there was no way to open and the lock needed to be drilled, I disagreed and said that I wouldn't do the service - the door was inside of my flat (one of the rooms) so he wouldn't leave - I called the company, argued with the attendant, but there was no agreement.

I was coerced into paying otherwise the guy wouldn't leave my home.

I called a second locksmith - South London Locks - Shoreditch, which came in promptly and opened the door in the same way these guys couldn't. So they care, don't rush, take 5 to read the reviews, it will save you a lot of money.
