What do you love most about your job?
I retired from Engineering several years ago and love the very similar challenge of rendering complex family situations down to simple solutions that can be delivered reliably. The legal profession has not been good at explaining the importance of good planning and it's always a pleasure to help families understand and provide significant improvements in guardianship, in long term finance and certainty of inheritance. Often it's the certainty and family having control that is most important to clients.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have been an Engineer at the top of my profession for many years. By retirement in 2008 I had built up my legal training to be able to take up Estate Planning at a pace I can pursue as my clients and my family decide. No more months away from home and in far places.
Why should our clients choose you?
We provide a service at home, specific to your situation and with no hourly fees attached, just realistic costs when you are comfortable with the options proposed. We then sort out documents, land issues, powers of attorney etc as you decide. It's simple!
Probate
Estate Administration after a death, Including legal work, tax forms, property and distribution at fixed fees.
Willwriting
Understanding family and their wishes and rendering an effective legal proposal, at fixed and reasonable costs. This may be a simple issue of guardianship or more complex Trusts where defence of assets is important.
Funeral Plans
Funeral costs are significant and we can almost always make a difference not only in the longer term but in todays funeral, held today. Not least, we arrange for a single call solution to ease executors burden at a difficult time and give the clients their own choice of ceremony - sometimes with surprising results!
