Great gym in downtown. Never overly crowded like a lot of gyms in the area. Fun variety of group classes offered. Clean & affordable, highly recommend!

This club offers exactly what I need: a noontime workout under an hour with time for a shower, if needed. The classes can be challenging, but I just do what I can, without pressure or feeling like a failure. There is a real sense of community among the women to simply do the best you can, keep moving. The bathrooms and showers are very clean, every day, there are plenty of mirrors and blowdryers. There is no pressure to become an Olympian athlete, and I don't feel a sense of hopelessness - attending every day at noon - taking the exercise class with weights - really makes a difference in my strength and mental health. I was I introduced to WFOB through Groupon, where I bought 10 personal training sessions. I wanted to get more into strength training versus cardio, so I thought a personal trainer would help me navigate all those scary machines I always see at the gym. My trainer was Melanie, and I like to tell people that she wasn't only my trainer, but also my spiritual guide. She went above and beyond to make sure that I was healthy physically, but also mentally, and that did a lot for my confidence. I enjoyed the first 10 sessions with her so much that I signed up for 12 more.I also took a Strong by Zumba class and it didn't have anything to do with Zumba, but I loved it all the same. This is a fantastic gym that is well equipped and well-priced for a place in downtown Boston. More...

Kendra's Zumba class on Friday is outstanding!! So much fun! Mostly salsa, reggeton, but also has a few other styles to mix it up. She even choreographs her own songs. Kendra is talented and knows how to make the class have a good time. All types of people were in the class so you will fit right in. I recommend her class for ages 10 to 80.The facility gets 4 stars. It is a standard gym, not luxury, which keeps the prices down. Everything is in good condition but the showers could use improvement. The stall fills with water so you might want to turn off the water often to allow for drainage. White bath towels can be rented. Blow dryers are available in the large locker room. Bring you own shampoo and hair brush. As for workout equipment, they have a wide variety and it is in slightly used condition. Many unique systems are offered such as TRX.Thanks for a great workout WFoB. More...

I tried out a couple classes with my class pass. I really love the Tabata class with Quincy. It's such a good work out! An intense 30 minute work out that will leave you feeling the good kind of sore the next morning. It was challenging but fun. Quincy is super helpful and she keeps the motivation high for her class. She takes the time to make sure everyone is doing the workouts in correct form. She's actually the reason why I'm writing this review. Although I've only taken her a class a couple times, she deserves recognition! I also took a Zumba with Sarah. I didn't like this class as much, unfortunately. I was excited to try it because I love incorporating dance into a workout. She knew what she was doing and looked great doing it but there was little to no instruction. She didn't really teach, she just did her thing and everyone was to follow. Sarah is filled with energy and I really loved her attitude but the lack of guidance overshadowed it for me. More...

I hadn't worked out in months when I first began but Quincy taught me new, dynamic, workouts that could be tailored to my ability and are things that I can do at home/at any gym. I cannot say enough good things about my experience here, because it not only pushed me to get strong and healthy but also taught me workouts that I can carry on to do where ever I go. If I weren't moving to another state I would continue on here, would highly recommend to anyone who wants to get into shape, get back into fitness or just push themselves to achieve their fitness goals ! WFOB is the only reason I exercise! They have an amazing team of instructors (I typically take classes with Julie, Dawn, Debbie, Quincy, and Angela) who actually make working out fun - I am most certainly the type of person that needs to be tricked into exercising so I take the group classes. My favorites are pilloxing and tabata. The location is convenient and the prices are so reasonable (with lots of employer discounts). The gym itself has everything you might need - group classes, fitness equipment, showers, lockers, etc.Lastly, the main reason this gym has to be the best in Boston is its members. All the women who go to this gym are so friendly and encouraging. It's such a supportive environment that I always feel comfortable when I'm there. So Women's Fitness was my first try!The location was convenient - heart of downtown Boston off the red line (Downtown Crossing stop). It makes me sad writing this review because I miss this place so much. The reason why I am no longer a member here is because I have relocated. This gym is by far the best gym I have been to and to this day, nothing beats it. You will never feel uncomfortable or intimidated. All the instructors are great - each person have their own style when it comes to training. I will sum up a few instructors I know and how their styles are:Julie (Piloxing) - She is very gentle. Not your BOOTCAMP kind of instructor but a very supportive one. Ari (BodyShred) - BOOTCAMP instructor. She screams at you and yes, she can be loud which makes her awesome. I also taken her circuit training classes on Fridays (these are paid classes) so worth it. Theres not a lot of people that show up to this class - it makes it even more personal. Kate (Strength in Motion/Pilates) - Her classes are more calm in my opinion. its not a difficult class to take but I'll take it on easy days. You have to listen to her sometimes - she is hilarious and she doesn't even know it. Dawn (spin/other classes etc) - energetic and hilarious instructor. I think her classes are most fun just because of her personality. The front desk ladies are nice and helpful -  I always had small talks with Robin and Quincy before leaving the gym. If you have questions, just ask. Don't be shy at this gym. Everyone is open, direct and honest. I would love to talk more about this gym and how great it is - you just have to go see it for yourself.
