Can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review. We did the 2 private sessions with Craig and it was honestly a great decision. Our dog doesn't like having guests in the house so Craig helped us work on that and also helped us with recall and loose leash walking. He is a great walker and is just so much more calm overall. Craig saved us! He worked magic with Rafiki, my newly adopted ex-racing Greyhound who was struggling with night-time separation anxiety. Living in London, there are many options for dog trainers, but I found that Well Mannered Mutt offered the best expertise and value for money. Craig is worth every penny and then some! His presence is very calm and encouraging, and I did not feel rushed or stressed working with him. He really understands dogs and has made such a positive difference in our lives. You won't regret booking a session with Well Mannered Mutt!Before my session with Well Mannered Mutt it was a chore to walk my dog on the lead. He'd pull hard on the lead and none of the methods I knew of were working to get him to walk nicely.After a 3 hour session with Craig my dog was already much improved and a pleasure to walk. Fantastic service, great experience, all canine concerns banished! I asked Craig for help with an issue with my rescue dog. I can completely recommend this service - it is brilliant. Craig really teaches you to understand and communicate with your dog. If you think you 'read' your dog pretty well already - this is still so worth it as there will definitely be nuances of that conversation you could be having a lot better! Before the sessions, I had asked myself how much easier life might have been with a expensive 'foundation trained' puppy and felt that might be my call in future. However, I have completely changed my mind. I now feel totally confident to deal effectively and gain the right behaviour with my dog, or actually any dog, and will be up for rescuing again if such a thing arises. Not only do you learn a great deal from a seriously intelligent guy who is top of his game, Craig is engaging and very amusing company - you will have a lot of fun too! Reasonable price as well! We were having a number of issues with our 14-month old Labrador Ada's behaviour, both at home and out on walks. When out for walks, she would pull on the lead and at home, she tried being 'top dog', forever demanding attention and barking incessantly.
This was really getting to us, and I was, to be honest, at the end of my tether.
We are so very happy to have found Craig and Well Mannered Mutt. In just two sessions, he managed to turn things around, teaching us practical and easy to use training techniques and exercises to reinforce the good behaviour. Needless to say, the training was just as much for us as it was for Ada (maybe more). Craig was always there for support when we needed help or advice, which was very reassuring.
The difference in Ada's behaviour was actually noticeable already after the first training session and things have continued to improve as we have implemented the routines and techniques that Craig taught us.
We would highly recommend Craig and Well Mannered Mutt to anybody who is looking for a dog trainer/behaviourist - he is absolutely fantastic and also, a really nice guy. Thanks Craig for your invaluable help.

Craig is a wonderful trainer. Our rescue hound Harvey was a complete scoundrel when he arrived. He was aggressive, lunged at people and actually bit Craig the first time he met him. After a few sessions, Harvey was much improved and more importantly Craig has given us the tools to handle his behaviour moving forward. Craig is patient, fun and non judgemental. We were so glad to have found Well Mannered Mutts! After a few issues with our rescue dog Jake being fearful, possessive and defensive with other dogs in the park we booked in three sessions with Craig and these have been absolutely perfectly pitched in getting to know Jake and his personality. Non-judgemental and calm, with a good sense of humour, Craig has been great to work with and has been a consistent source of support and encouragement with the training. He explains concepts really well and has been clear and patient in helping us understand the training and doggy behaviours. We are now more confident dog owners and are pleased to report Jake is more settled, wonderfully obedient and trusting of our leadership. I would recommend Well Mannered Mutts to anyone. Craig helped us train our 9 month old puppy that had learnt all the basic commands but we weren't sure how to turn him into a beautifully trained and obedient adult dog. He is a fantastic dog trainer that really takes the time to discuss your needs and work through exercises. Hi , a few weeks ago, you put us in touch with a dog behaviourist, Craig Steiff. Just to let you know, he was brilliant.
Very professional, positive, practical and helpful. He was always listening, never judgmental nor patronizing. Our dogs are still a work in progress, but many improvements are there, and we know which direction we are going. Craig really enlightened us to what the real dynamics between our 2 dogs are. So thank you for putting us in touch, and for finding someone who is exceptional in his field.

Absolutely Brilliant. I am so truly grateful to Well Mannered Mutt's for teaching us so much about Ralfie and Bob, our wonderful little Jack Russell and Border Terrier.
Both rescue dogs, Ralpfie came to us extremely territorial, and Bob with a severe aggression towards other dogs.
Previously, taking them for walks was a thing of dread however now, it is a complete joy.
Within 2 sessions, we have learnt to communicate effectively with them, making them feel safe and behave calmly in what would previously have been highly tense situations.
My only regret is that we did not seek Well Mannered Mutt's help sooner.
This has been completely transformative for our family/ pack.
