Val's is a wonderful place for women to work out. It is very affordable and the tanning beds are awesome. But the best thing about this place is the owner and her staff they make you feel welcome, give you encouragement and check on you when you have missed coming in.

(and of course a good diet), but mostly, Val and her establishment. When you first sign up, Val MAKES SURE that your are in good physical shape and that there is nothing medically wrong with you. I love Val's Sun & Shape!!!! I've been attending Yoga classes faithfully since February this year and my strength, flexibility, and mood all have improved immensely in the last four months. I'm a yoga fan!! Also Val's has a red light bed and sauna light. I've used the robotic toning tables as well and was surprised at how well they work the muscles. Hello, I just want to brag on a new machine at the shop. It's a vibration plate. It's absolutely awesome!!!! In the last year n half I've had to major foot surgeries including an ankle replacement. This machine worked so well this first night I was able to walk w/o excruciating pain! Best thing ever! I thot ok we'll see about the next night again no crazy pain to walk and a knot on the bottom of my other foot was gone from walking different to baby my surgery foot. Not kidding!!! It's Friday the day it was suppose to be a ice storm. Val and some of her staff were there so people like me or I mean "US" can still come in. Now that's dedication! If you haven't had the chance to check them out DO they are super clean with toning tables and tanning beds! Well the whole place is clean and that's what I look for with my body going to be on them. Val is absolutely amazing at what she does. She so knowledgeable about tanning, fitness and wellness. Every time I have walked in I have been greeted with Val's warm, welcoming, smiling face. You don't see a lot of managers so hands on in their business when it's comes to the customer service side, they are usually behind the scene. But Val is the complete opposite. She is always working just as hard, if not harder than anyone I see in there cleaning beds, educating people on tanning and the packages and educating them on the toning machines. I have to say this it the best tanning salon I have ever been in hands down!! And did I mention how dark I have gotten in such a short amount of time and being a redhead that's very hard to do. Val and her girls are all very nice and energetic.
There are No judgemental attitudes like you get at other gyms nor does it feel like you're in boot camp.
Everyone is going at their own pace and that's ok.

I have been getting my spray tans done by Val for the past few years and i can not say enough good things about her, about the quality of work she does, her employees like Amber are just the sweetest most helpful and down to earth girls ive ever dealt with in this business! Ive managed a tanning salon several years ago and I've seen some pretty interesting things but this establishment is by far the cleanest and most kept. She makes sure to replace her bulbs when she needs to and has very reasonable prices for both tanning and toning! I wouldnt drive the 45min drive from Piedmont if I didnt love this business! Val gives THE BEST spray tans! They are done by hand, so you never have to worry about your tan turning out uneven or runny. She also provides high quality spray tans and you never have to worry about coming out orange. Some may think it's awkward to get a spray tan done by hand but, val is the only one that does them & makes you feel comfortable and wants to do her best to make her customers happy! I am a red head with blue eyes and pale skin. Every summer, I think I want a spray tan so I go somewhere to get one & end up orange & splotchy. Not at Vals!! Valerie was so kind & I enjoyed talking to her. She took her time to make sure my spray tan was perfect! She put barrier cream in all the places I needed it & took the time to wipe off the extra from every finger & every toe. She also used a prep spray before & a conditioning spray after which I've never seen anyone use. She gave me detailed instructions & she is very knowledgeable about the whole process. My tan is perfect!!! It's not orange, its not too dark for my skin type (although she does have darker for darker skin types) & there are zero streaks!! It's coming off evenly & my family even told me how natural it looks. Which my family won't lie to me. Lol. I knew before I left that I'll never go anywhere else for a spray tan again.
