Can’t believe how much we have achieved with our dog in such a short period of time, he has learnt so much and we didn’t realise how clever he was. . it’s great when the whole family is also involved in the training! New online videos for us also to watch.. would recommend to anyone with a puppy or young dog More...

Would recommend Tricks & Treats, our little puppy Beans has grown in confidence and we have learnt a lot about how to train him since starting on the 6 week puppy course (currently 4 weeks in). Deena is friendly, approachable and always gives us helpful advice specific to our pup when we have questions. More...

We have just finished some one to one sessions with Deena and she has taught us so much on how to help and learn our labradoodle Prince new ways to cope with stressful situations! He is so much calmer now, Deena was very knowledgeable and patient with us all and would highly recommend her and we would happily use her again in the future! Thank you More...

Q&As

Owners will come to me and say my dog will not listen to me, can you help? Just a few simple exercises later and their dog is showing the focus required to become that well behaved dog the owner is looking for!

Before I began my training to become a dog trainer, I had attended a couple of dog training classes with my own pup, who would pull and lunge everywhere. The trainers I went to instantly used aversive equipment on him (choker chain, K9 bridle) and were yanking and pulling the lead to hurt him so that he would be too scared to move away from them. I didn't want to use force or intimidation to train my dog, I wanted him to trust me. Two years down the line I am still dealing with the fall out of what those two trainers did to my dog. I found the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers and began my studies to embark on my career as a dog trainer so that no other dog went through what mine had to go through.

I am a fully qualified dog trainer with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers and also a full member of the Pet Professional Guild. This means I am committed to the physical, mental, environmental and emotional well-being of each pet. I promise to never use fear, pain or force to train your dog.

I have completed intensive courses with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers, Karen Pryor Academy and British College of Canine Studies. My education in the world of dog training is never ending - there is always something new to learn, new techniques, and new skills. I want to pass on these new skills to my customers!

All sessions are completed using fun and exciting games for you and your dog to help build the bond you have always wanted.

I am available to train in your own home environment or in the indoor hall I use for group classes.

Services

Home visits are available for owners (and dogs) that may not like group environments or where your dog may struggle to be around other dogs or people. This is also a perfect service for if you only have one or two training issues that do do not require ongoing class attendance, such as pulling on the lead or not coming back when called.

Our Perfect Start Puppy Courses are held for a fixed number of weeks (usually 6 weeks long) and are designed to help your pup become confident about his surroundings as well as learning basic obedience.

The mixed ability obedience classes are ongoing and work on grades - starting at the beginning to ensure you build up your understanding of why we get better results training in a force free way. You will also learn some fun tricks and scentwork games too to help with mental stimulation.

I bring the Perfect Start Puppy Course to your home! Ideal for those that may not enjoy group classes or are unable to get to class. Using your home and the local environment to help your dog develop the confidence he needs to enjoy the big wide world with you by his side!

I can come to your home and take your dog out on a walk and train at the same time! This is a premium one to one service. No other dogs will be on the walk and will enable your dog to develop his confidence and skills out in the big wide world. Any training will be discussed with the owner and meetings will be required to transfer the skills required for your dog to be able to walk nicely with you also. Available in half hour or hourly visits.

I stay in your home overnight and keep your pet in their usual routine.
Perfect for those with pets that dont like to stay in new places or cannot be moved (fish/aviaries etc)
Walks can be included for dogs.
Please note, dogs must be ok to be left for at least 3 hours so my other scheduled work can be completed throughout the day.
