My name is Sam and I am a fully qualified personal trainer.

I have been traing people in and around Mansfield for 4 years from individual sessions to running my own classes.

I train people who want to lose weight, get fit, tone up. From All levels including championship football players to people wanting to reduce their obesity problems.

Throughout my pregnancy I have suffered with back pains which has stopped me from working. As soon as I've messaged sam hes got me in straight away for a massage and made me feel 100% better. Today I had my first sports massage with Sam and I can honestly say I feel 10x better already!!! After years of hairdressing I had a reoccurring ache (pain) in my shoulder and back and just after one session the tension feels a lot better. Sam has been my personal trainer for the last 9 months; we have been working together on resolving ongoing issues with my lower back and hip. Some of my problems were due to poor muscle tone, bad posture and a lack of understanding – despite many years of running. However, since working with Sam I have a much stronger core, i.e. I now have abs, a much improved upper body strength- (apparently runners do need this) and leg strength. Our sessions are always challenging and appropriate for the issue I am experiencing. After reaching a point whereby I knew I had to make changes in order to get fit and lose weight (exercise was limited to doing the shopping and housework). I also wanted to break the cycle I had got into of endless yo yo diets, so after reading the amazing reviews I got in touch with Sam, and it is one of the best decisions I have made. Right from the start Sam has always been really supportive, knowledgeable and really comfortable to be around (very important to me as I had very low self confidence at the start, so finding someone who never judged, and understands was key). Sam started me on a nutrition plan, and we started on a 2 day per week exercise routine.Cut to a little over 4 months in with nearly 3st lost and 3 clothes sizes down, I am feeling more confident and now exercise most days, through walking, training with Sam, Pilates, and even starting on a couch to 5k programme (running was never ever going to be part of any exercise for me!). I still have a way to go, but with Sam's continued encouragement, I hope that the changes to diet and the complete change of exercise routines are changes for life. More...

I got in touch with Sam because I wanted to get myself in a routine when it came to exercise. Sam has really helped to focus me and enjoy exercising. Even though I didn’t have a lot of weight to lose I did need to tone up. I lost 10cm on my waist and increase the size of my thighs, arms and chest. I have been training with Sam for over 10 months and during this time my general health, fitness and life have improved dramatically. I was extremely overweight, could not walk 200yards without stopping due to pain and breathlessness, was a high concern with my GP as uncontrolled high blood pressure & cholesterol, was struggling to work etc etc. I had tried every diet in the book and my GP had even offered to pay for gastric banding! I had given up (and at 48 resolved myself to the hopeless bin).

Well that all turned around when I found Sam. I spoke to him first and was reassured by his calm yet confidant approach. The first session I had to have help tying my shoe laces and could not get up and down off the floor ! The journey has been hard but Sam is there encouraging and pushing me when I need it. I now have a completely different life everything is easier as my fitness levels are so much improved, I have lost weight and my GP is no longer worried about my BP and cholesterol as they are normal. Oh and as for getting up off the floor I can now cycle, run and feel I can do anything!

I still Sam At the beginning of March when Caroline and I decided enough was enough and we were going to start taking care of ourselves. The embarrassment of those first few sessions just showed me how unfit and overweight I was, but Sam was always positive and encouraging. He always manages to push you that little bit further when you think there is nothing left to give and always provides constant encouragement. Six months on and I look forward to the torture 3 - 4 times per week and for some reason always say thankyou when it is over. Sam has turned my life around and I have even voluntarily started running even on holiday. 5km is my current distance of choice. Something I thought I would never be capable of. I got in touch with Sam at end of the summer, I had literally given up.
I had tried everything I could think of slimming world, weight watchers and ofc the slim shake diet and was still gaining weight.
I didn't know what to do, I was well and truly stuck in a rut.
Even tho I had a gym membership "which was hardly being used"
Well that's all starting to change now Sam came to the rescue, but it's not been easy and definitely got a longggg way to go, I'm starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel, which I haven't seen for the past 3-4 years.
Sam is more than a trainer he is there all the time for advice or a kick up the back side. He doesn't give up on you even if you've given up on yourself.

I made the decision to stop eating my way through life and contacted Sam, He gave me a nutrition plan which was great (I don't eat rabbit food) I eat proper foods just the right amount at the right time, he gave me advice on supplements (my skin is the best it's been in 10 years) but most importantly he comes and trains with me once a week and gives me the worst 45 minutes of my life but in the best way, After 5 weeks I getting worried I wasn't getting anywhere so I took some front and side pictures and reviewed them from the ones taken 5 weeks before (see sams FB page for the evidence). I cannot praise Sam enough! We have been training since March this year twice a week and I first contacted him at the beginning of the year after deciding enough was enough, I had spent years trying fad diets and avoided exercise and my weight had been creeping on. I was very nervous at first and felt very embarrassed about training, but as soon as I met him I felt comfortable and was put at ease. I can honestly say I have never enjoyed exercise as much and i look forward to our training sessions, since meeting Sam my life has changed in so many ways, the journey has been hard but Sam has always encouraged me and pushed me to reach new goals and targets.

So far in my journey i have lost around 35lb and my fitness has massively improved, Sam has helped me turn my life around for the better, i feel so much more confident in myself, my fitness and my eating choices. Sam's support and guidance of what food's to eat has made such a huge difference.

I cannot praise him enough and would highly recommend him. Such an awesome, down to earth honest guy who pushes me more every session and has helped me put such positive changes into my life. I cannot thank him enough and look forward to the next set of goals.

Training with Sam has been a great experience. He has taught me a lot about eating correctly and also how to perform exercises with correct form. Both of these have resulted in me losing weight and gaining more muscle. I look a lot leaner now and it is all thanks to Sam. He pushes me on each session and sets me workouts to do in my own time which keeps me motivated on my end goals. More than anything, Sam is just a genuinely nice and friendly guy. Ok so for those who know me for me to involve anyone in my training usually is a big no no.. so having an online PT really was a massive step for me. I chose my online PT Sam because of two reasons I have seen his personal goals being achieved in becoming a Strongman and then the 180 change to a lean strong PT and it wasn’t done over night like a gimmick like you see on all the adverts. Anyway I spoke with Sam told him exactly what I wanted to achieve he tailored an online workout plan for me that is fab as it has video to show you how to do the work outs and also I had 3 different diet plans done for me to fit around Daily life,Half marathon training and marathon training. (Note buy Tupperware it will become your best friend) So 6weeks ago I weighed 13st 13 and currently I sit at 13st 3 so 10lb loss in weight which is great and my strength in the last 6 weeks has grown so so much, additionally I have also booked 3 PB in running and taking nearly 3 min of my half marathon distance run. I have also educated myself massively through the process by understanding what I am putting into my body and also why. I still have new goals I need to achieve and that’s why I am using Sam again in mid April for a further 6 weeks. (Derek's wife) I first started training with Sam when I was the heaviest I had ever been. I was always hungry, always tired, my skin was awful and the horrible pains in my stomach had me convinced there was something seriously wrong. I had absolutely zero motivation and knew I needed someone to force me into exercise, so I contacted Sam. I had seen the photos on his facebook of transformations, read the reviews, basically did my homework and I was impressed. I knew I needed someone serious about his own fitness to guide me and Sam is nothing if not that.

The first session I was very unfit (two minutes into the warm up and I was gasping for air) but I felt good afterwards. As requested, after a few sessions I happily had my husband take my pictures, I had lost about half a stone through the training and eating right and I was absolutely horrified at how I looked. Fast forward 10 weeks, training twice a week and doing a few of the sessions at home Sam has put together for me, along with an eating plan and the changes are dramatic. I've lost over 2 stone and am toning up.

Sam is always punctual and enthusiastic.The sessions are always different, always challenging. He finds what works for you to keep you going. Sometimes its encouragement, sometimes it's tough love. He works around me and my schedule that changes weekly. He keeps in contact between sessions which is a lovely touch. He remembers when my weigh in day is and is as enthusiastic as I am when I get a loss (every week). When my wrist was acting up he even appeared with some wrist supports.

With Sam you really do get more than a personal trainer. You get advice on eating, a tailor made workout to do at home, you get a coach who supports you and cheers you on and someone who doesn't mess about. You WILL get results and you WILL get compliments and you WILL learn to love pushing yourself. It's just what he does, and he is the best at it.

There are a plethora of Personal Trainers out there! However, there is only one Sam! I have been training with this man for a few years now and can hand on heart say that he is awesome! If anyone's looking for help reaching their next level in fitness (whatever level that is) I would recommend training with Sam. I was initially just looking for help on my form with weight lifting but he has improved every area from diet, nutrition and supplementation to my whole training routine. Everything feels like it's coming together and we have only just got started! Before training with Sam I spent over a year training and watching endless YouTube videos on lifting. Having contacted Sam last year after trying a few other PT's, I knew straight away that he would be right for me. I have a cardiac problem and need my PT to understand that and develop a program around that. He did so with aplomb and has changed the way I do things completely. I am just about to start my third block of ten sessions with Sam and cannot believe the difference in such a short space of time. I have tried dieting and going to the gym on and off for years but have only seen sporadic results and never managed to consistently stick at it. I bought some equipment for my garage but was struggling to find the motivation to use it so I decided to invest in a personal trainer and it was the best decision I have ever made. I have lost a stone and a half in weight and my body shape looks totally different already. Sam is very professional and pushes you much more than you could push yourself. It is amazing how many exercises you can do with very little equipment and Sam always changes things around to keep each session interesting. He is always on time and is very flexible with days/times and will always accommodate when plans change. I've trained with Sam for over 20 sessions and have really enjoyed it. I started just because I wanted to get a bit fitter and lose a bit of weight. I was a member of the gym but had really lacked motivation to go or to try anything different like weights while I was there. I wanted someone who could motivate to get back into shape and also teach me some new exercises to improve my strength. Every session with Sam has been different which makes it fun and I haven't ever dreaded a session the way I dreaded going to the gym. A few months after starting to train with Sam I found out I was pregnant. I was really reassured by Sam and he encouraged me to continue training and adapted exercises when I was feeling sick in early pregnancy. I felt reassured that he had trained other pregnant ladies before and was able to tailor the programme accordingly. I definitely feel stronger and have made progress with my fitness since training with Sam and intend to train with him again once the baby is born. More...

Hi,Found Sam on a simple google search for a good personal trainer in the Nottingham area. After reviewing quite a few different websites I found Sams to meet the criteria i was looking for. So I arranged for a block of 10 sessions at a reasonable price. I work away from home during the week and found myself in the pub most nights which also resulted in a bad diet. So i needed a kick start as i am usually quite health conscious. After speaking with Sam on the phone I found him extremely flexible in both the days and times i could train. My only goal was shifting weight around my belly - fat loss. Sessions were hard but rewarding which is what you would expect if you are paying someone to help you achieve your goals. After the 10 sessions i noticed a massive difference with both my waist size and the collar size on my work shirts. As the progress was noticeable i proceeded to continue with the training with an extra 20 sessions. Overall I really rate the level of professionalism of the services provided and would highly recommend Sam as a trainer who will help you achieve your goals. My son started with Sam to improve his speed and fitness to help with his Football training at Nottingham Forest Academy. He plays for the under 12's team and after weeks of intense training with Sam he has just signed a new contract for the under 13's . Sam has worked hard on my sons speed and running technique and all the hard work has definitely paid off. Watching my son now compared to the beginning of the football season, he is faster and a lot more fitter than he has ever been. After booking our wedding myself and my partner decided we needed to get into shape for the big day. Sam came to our house for the first time had a little chat with us then said shall we have a little training session after that day we have never looked back. It killed us we couldn't beliveve how unfit we were even thought we both thought the we were fairly fit people. Every session Sam pushes you harder and harder. Through the Sam's eating programme the results are amazing I've lost just over a stone in weight but have dropped two dress sizes from 14 down to 10. I found Sam through his website whilst looking for a personal trainer to get me back in shape after the Xmas period ready for my holiday at the end of January, I only had four weeks and was quite worried that I wouldn't achieve my objective of a 10lb weight loss, I needn't have worried at all, Sam helped with diet and motivation as well as exercise and stamina and I felt fabulous when our sessions came to an end. He worked me extremely hard and although I dreaded every one before he arrived knowing what I was in for, the sessions were fun and went fast, I felt totally revitalised when he left! I would not have categorised myself as an unfit person before training with Sam. I had always kept up some type of training such as using the gym, running or cycling in the summer. I did realise that I was not the most healthy eater and had fallen into the habit of missing meals when I was busy at work, then eating unhealthy foods for convenience late in the evening when I got home. I wanted to boost my fitness, focus on loosing a few pounds, and get back the motivation I had when I was younger (I am currently 38). From the outset I was surprised how hard I found the training, I quickly realised that I had just been scratching the surface with the excercise I had been doing. It quickly reminded me of what my body is capable of if you apply a little focus and determination. Sam is very experienced and knows exactly what is best for you as an individual. He pushes you hard but in a very controlled way, the sessions are varied and he always finds new ways to wring out a little more performance from you. Even when he is training my parter and myself together he makes sure we are both being worked close to our maximum. The "diet plan" does not feel like a diet at all, I can honestly say that I prefer eating the way that Sam has taught me, and do not miss the foods I have given up at all ( except maybe sticky toffee pudding.....yea, I do miss that). After 3-4 months of training with Sam not only are the changes to my body obvious, but I also seem to have more energy, and feel like I have a much healthier lifestyle overall. I still have much more to achive, but I now have the confidence that I can actually become more of an athlete which would have been a joke just a few months ago. More...

I was stuck in a rut, was very unmotivated in general, and had put weight on gradually over a couple of years. I thought I'd try training with Sam. It got me motivated to go to the gym as well, after a few sessions. I've now lost 1.5 stone and lost several inches from my waist and generally feel fitter and have loads more energy.I'd recommend Sam to anyone. More...

Thanks Sam for being my personal trainer for the past year. I have really enjoyed our sessions (even the ones where you made me carry unfeasibly heavy things over my head for ages! ) and I will miss training with you. As well as getting back my fitness I feel like I got a lot of my confidence back as well and most importantly my energy. If I hadn't moved house I would have definitely carried on training with you, because it is the only way I have found to exercise consistently since I stopped doing martial arts. More...

I was really lacking motivation to go to the gym as I've been doing the same old routine for months if not years. A short break abroad was getting ever closer so I needed to get my beach body fast! I contacted Sam and asked him if he could help me do the impossible and trim some fat and tone up my body in just a few short weeks. After a friendly consultation he created me a four week training plan and diet. Every session was unique and it included many exercises I had never tried before, as we both go to the same gym, he was always on hand to guide me and make sure I was doing the exercise properly. As it was so different to the training I have done in the past, I really enjoyed it and looked forward to doing the next session, my motivation was restored. In just four weeks, Sam’s routine and friendly advice helped me reduce my body fat percentage from 18.4% to 11.7%! I started training with Sam 6 months ago. I HATE exercise and have ALWAYS found excuses NOT to go to the gym (or not to stick at it. ..). Sam is a big, friendly guy - but he knows how to keep pushing... just enough. And week after week he's there, knocking on the door - and on days where I definitely would have given gym a skip... there he is, so let's get going... At 41, I now have more definition and muscles than I have ever had. And most importantly - my rubbish attitude towards exercise has completely changed. In the beginning it was a constant moan... ah, this hurts... why am I doing this... moan moan moan. And now I am at a place where I am (almost) addicted and get quite upset when I miss out on training sessions. Best of all is that my energy levels are up and my shift in attitude has also affected other areas of my life for the positive. Before I trained with Sam I lacked confidence in myself and ability. Sam is a very approachable, friendly great person that made me feel comfortable right from my first session making my training alot more enjoyable than any exercise or gym I had done before. I was reluctant to sign up for my trial session with Sam at a wedding fair, I m very glad I did keep my session, as within the first 2 months of training with Sam I lost 1 and a half stone, several cm from my targeted areas and felt a lot healthier. This was achieved by Sam motivating me, constructively kicking me into shape and encouraging me to work through the fatigue wall. Sam is a very approachable, friendly, flexible and professional. He does a fantastic job in a very small space and a few weapons/Equipment to ensure you work hard and make progress. I am still working hard with Sam to achieve my goals (a healthy and smaller me) and starting to enjoy the "good pain" you endure in a session. I would defiantly would recommend Sam as he can ensure you great results if you are shy to exercise or a fanatic! I've never been a great fan of gyms was unable to find the motivation,but I wanted to improve my fitness with someone to push me and understand my personal goals in relation to my fitness goals. Sam is just the person, since training with Sam my fitness level and motivation has improved immensely.Sam has helped me to achieve my personal goals and much more.He has inspired me and supported me with my personal needs. If you want to get fit, look better, feel good about yourself and all from your own home this man is the trainer for you. If you're a bigger girl like me, going to the gym can be daunting . You feel like all eyes are on you and everyone is fitter than you and judging you. So what do you do? It's the new year there are a plethora of DVDs coming out promising a quick fix and abs of steel but which to choose to suit you? Getting a personal trainer solves this. Sam will cater the training sessions to your needs and keep it fresh and interesting so no two sessions are the same, well except for the fact he believes in you more than you do.... that translates to, he will push you to your limits. Which to be honest is what everyone needs, whether you're looking to get fitter or wanting to maintain fitness, you will never know what you are capable of if there isn't someone there to challenge your hard and fast beliefs of your capabilities.Granted that first meet is fun, you answer the door to this man mountain, who is really good looking and a really nice guy. Train with Sam! I've been training with Sam for the last 9 months. He's a great trainer and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him, whether you've had a trainer before or you're just thinking about making a start. Sam is a consummate professional, enthusiastic, a tough task master (you'll probably feel like begging for mercy and swearing a lot - but that just makes it worse so I don't recommend it) and he also makes it good fun (honestly!).Sam is particularly good at helping me to continue training following surgery for a ruptured disc in my spine which has left me with slight nerve damage, restricted movement and ongoin pain, this means that my ability to train consistently is often impacted by flare-ups and related injuries but we've never missed a session. Sam is very knowledgeable about how to manage injury so there's always a way around it and it's never a big deal, he seems to have a way to make you forget about it and focus on what you're trying to achieve - so you always feel like you've achieved something at the end of a session.I'm a member of a local gym so I spend a lot of time training on my own and initially I was sceptical about training at home - in fact, now, I'd find it hard to give up training with Sam as he pushes me really hard and works with me on the things I would never do at the gym, so it really compliments my workouts and it also gives me extra motivation to keep training on my own as I know he will always be waiting to push me that bit harder at the next session.One last thing which I think is worth mentioning...if you're new to personal training or if you're changing trainer (Sam's my third trainer); it's like any new 'relationship' - it takes a little while to get to know someone and to get into the 'groove' and feel comfortable, it's definitely worth making a commitment to a few sessions - this gives Sam an opportunity to really work out how to train you for optimum results and you an opportunity to really start to feel the benefit.If you want to achieve more that you believe possible, be pushed hard and achieve the results you really want, with someone you can trust (this is so important!) - Train with Sam.Good Luck! I contacted Sam with just 14 weeks till my wedding day.I've been a yo yo dieter most of my life, I've tried so many slimming classes and been a member of so many different gyms ; always with the hope that I would find the long term motivation to break all my negative habits with food. Mostly with little or only short term success !Sam not only provides the motivation but he instills the confidence and knowledge that's needed for maintaining long term goals In the 14 weeks of training before my wedding day I'd managed to lose almost 35 lbs and dramatically change my shape and tone ( my waist being 8 inches smaller) I was thrilled with the results ! Sam is great to work with, he finds your limit quickly and then puts together a training programme that motivates and pushes you to achieve your goals, whatever they are. I mainly wanted to lose weight and he also designed a 'diet plan' that complimented my training programme to help achieve this.Sam definitely knows his stuff on the training and diet plans, however, the part that he helped me with the most was the pyschological side of training. Sam has a real skill at this and he helped me to push through the barriers when I thought I couldn't do anymore. I have just started training with Sam after googleing trainers in the mansfield area - I called him and arranged a consultation that week. He came right on time, we had a chat about what i wanted and my goals and then had a small session which thank fully was not too much for me. He really motivated me to keep going. We are now a month into training twice a week, my diet is giving me a lot of energy and best of all I have lost 8lb whist still being able to eat treats!!
