After meeting some interesting prospects through referrals and almost making a decision on a photographer, my bridesmaids & I met Tod at the Dulles Bridal Show & I knew right away that he would be the perfect photographer for our wedding. Tod Cohen was absolutely AMAZING to work with. My husband and I live in San Francisco and planned our wedding at Keswick Hall long distance. Throughout the process Tod answered every email and phone call in a very timely manor and met with us every time we were in town. I met Tod at a wedding expo at Keswick and knew right away that he would be the perfect photographer. My husband and I really wanted classic, timeless pictures and after seeing the 700+ pictures Tod took on our special day, we got what we wanted. He was with us from 11 am to 11 PM and even brought in a second photographer (who was also amazing) to ensure we got every picture we wanted, and more. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Experience with previous weddings helps anticipate great moments. I am always on the lookout for creative angles and I am knowledgeable about my equipment for proper lighting and exposure.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
How many hours of services will be needed? Do you have a particular style of photo that is your favorite? Do you have a set schedule for photos or would you like my assistance in planning this? Are you interested in formal albums for you and parents? Are there any uniquer family structures or concerns (such as divorced parents, family member in a wheeelchair, anyone sensitive to the light flashing)?
What do you love most about your job?
I enjoy capturing the moment - and being able to provide clients memories of special events that will last long after the event.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Not only do I enjoy the creativity of photography, but I enjoy the creativity of being a business owner. I am proud of the successful business I have built and how I manage the many aspects of being self-employed.
