First impression: very clean, pleasant decor and ambient music. Rick, the owner, and his son serve with graciousness and welcoming hospitality. That alone is worth frequenting this locale. Now let's brag about the delicious breakfast. Potato skin hash with chives & bacon topped with a subtle amount of cheese and sour cream. Thought I'd ask for salsa but the dish was so well seasoned that the plate was empty before I realized it - Scarpetta! Need we say more? Love this town, we'll definitely be returning to the Worker Bee. More...

What a great little find in Carpinteria. A small, cafe style, breakfast and lunch restaurant. Usually a wait, but they also have counter seating, and a patio in the back. Not a huge menu, but everything is good! Plenty of breakfast options. Always check the chalk board for daily specials! More...

Very nice iced blended mocha. The French toast and bacon are reasonably good. Staff are friendly. Free WiFi to boot. Enter from the parking lot - not visible from the street.

Great little coffee house with good food and gluten free options. Open for breakfast and lunch.
You'll have to look for it in the middle of the strip mall.
They don't have a real sign up yet.

How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
The perfect menu begins with a conversation. We prefer to communicate one on one with our client, affording them the opportunity to describe their ideal moment, atmosphere and menu. We really enjoy bouncing ideas back and forth with clients because they serve as inspiration.
What do you love most about your job?
Food not only nurtures the body, but also the soul. My favorite part about this is that I can facilitate that journey.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I grew up watching my mother bake and as soon as I could reach the counter I started helping her. Since then, cooking and baking have been an integral part of my life. After graduating from SBCC Culinary School, I have worked as sous chef in various high end restaurants, catering companies and as a private chef. The move to owning and operating my own business was inspired by the birth of my first child. Her arrival made me realize that I wanted to be a part of all her milestones.
