I had three verrucas on each foot , six in all. After ignoring them for years , one on my right and one on my left foot started to cause me discomfort . I visited the Wilpshire Clinic and on examination of both feet Elaine suggested dry needling . I'd read up on its effectiveness and agreed to the treatment.The procedure involved two or three injections to numb one foot ( my left) and then the needling pricked the "mother" verucca multiple times , pushing the virus into the bloodstream in the hope that the body will produce anti-bodies to rid the system of the virus. The bottom of my left foot was sore for a couple of days but recovered quite quickly. I then went for monthly return visits to check if the treatment was working . I thought the needling had failed , but after around four to five months my veruccas began to disappear. Six months after the needling , both feet are now clear and I'm delighted ! I've been type 1 diabetic for 47 years and started to experience foot issues about 4 years ago. Yvette at The Wilpshire Clinic has been providing me excellent podiatry, after a less-than-perfect experience of NHS services, and has been instrumental in my return to no-lesions and no-foot discomfort at all! ! She treated an early stage ulcer during my initial visits to the clinic, that completely healed after a short period and I have stayed clear since. I have appointments every 6 weeks for checks and a general spruce-up. An extremely professional outfit, and the pleasant environment and consistently friendly manner during each appointment is a much-appreciated bonus! More...
