Cheap theater, only 4 screens! But super friendly staff and great prices on drinks and snacks. They even have the best military discount around, free! We go pretty often, it's in a good location and have never had any issues. About block from the Loyola red line station! More...

Quaint and cozy and refills on popcorn. Just there's no parking and we scored a ticket on Christmas Eve. That was a sad day.

I often come to the New 400 Theatres because it is by far the most affordable theatre in the Chicago area. On Tuesdays, movies are even cheaper! Military members always get in free and they have all of the latest films. It is a smaller theatre so there are usually only three or four showing, but I've yet to have trouble seeing a movie that I came to see. They offer a snack bar with alcoholic drinks as well as the usual theatre go-tos, like popcorn and candy. Every day they have a featured drink special as well (2-1 wine for example!). The downside is that there is only one small restroom which can get packed! The movie screens are also a tad smaller than normal and are set at a high angle to allow for everyone in the room to see. Tuesday cheap tickets you can't beat that. Comfortable seats. I remember when it was just one big theater, and I miss that, but the screen size was good. Small tear or crease in the screen in the theater I was in. Wasn't terrible, but noticeable for bright shots More...

Absolutely a hole in the wall movie theater, but there is an amazing charm to the place! The prices are very reasonable, and the staff is friendly. Probably not the place to go for a date night, but if you're looking for a cheap place to see a movie with no thrills, this is it! More...

There are few theaters on the far Northside of the city and the 400 is placed in a very special location! I love being able to walk to the theater throughout the year for films and would very much like it grow and elevate its reputation as a theater among theaters as I know the community here would be very responsive to first run top rated films. I’ve lived all over the city, Downtown, Hyde Park, Wicker Park, Logan Square, Lincoln Park, Fulton Market, Ukrainian Village and I have never experience a more involved active community! More...

Seeing a movie in Chicago is expensive might not be the best theater but when it comes down to price and you just want to see a movie then it’s perfect.

I have always loved this theater since I was a kid. My older sister used to bring me up here when she first moved to Rogers Park. This small and quaint theater is perfect. They only have four rooms for showing but somehow they make it work. The tickets are cheap and they have some type of deal every day of the week, which is awesome for Loyola students and those of the neighborhood. They also sell liquor here and it is super cheap but good quality. They have a calendar that notifies people of the movie releases etc. The staff is super knowledgeable and friendly and respectable. For the month of October they are attempting to start a tradition of showing all Halloween movies (old and new). More...

The staff at the 400 is amazing! I was in a panic trying to plan my daughters 13th birthday and The 400 theater came to the rescue! Madisen the event manager was amazing. She helped pull everything together with ease and was VERY patient with me through the entire process. Jake the gm was amazing as well. He made sure I had everything I needed the day of the party. I forgot the two ladies behind the bar and front desk but they were both amazing as well. More...

Fantastic theater - small, cozy and local atmosphere without feeling too modern. A rare spot that's fairly priced - if you go on a midnight release show you might be able to get a ticket, (specialty themed) drink and popcorn for the price of a ticket at some of your large corporation theaters. Staff go above and beyond - always warm and friendly but I was especially impressed when one night an employee and a manager ensured that a group of people who would not stop yelling at each other during a movie (Joker, of course it had to be this one out of the hundred times I've been here) were escorted out of the theater in the most professional manner.Always try to bring friends, family and dates here and would recommend this place to anyone.
