Paolo ....yeah Paolo!! ...every time I see a Paolo performing , I see a musician/artist full of passion and creativity for what he does and believe ,with a mastery control of the loops, that will impress you. You don't want miss one of his concerts , or to listen to his great songs.

its very hard to put into a few sentances just how creative and talented Paolo Morena is.Ive heard it said that some people make music because they want whilst others make music because they HAVE to. Paolo certainly falls into the later category and that urgency to express oneself comes over significantly in his work.Technically slicker than Danny Zuko,s hair gel you forget the guy is looping 5/6 instruments plus 3/4 vocal harmonies at the same time!! But the real talent comes though in the music , wonderful ,mesmerising .. a real joy !!More please!!! More...

Paolo and his 21st Century one man band continue to amaze and astound me. I've worked with Paolo on several videos and shot him live many times, the amount of talent this guy has for instrumentation and real, heart felt lyrics and songs will blow your mind when you get to see him live. One to watch!

I've had the pleasure of association with this dude as a musician and as a friend. Always an innovator, prime mover, leg shaker and earthquaker, he's gone in the washer too hot! But instead of coming out murky-brown, his colours are blazoned like a hippy tie-dye enlaced with LEDs strewn over a festival speaker... What the hell is he gonna do next? You have to see Paolo perform live to believe just what he can do!
To call him a live looping artist just doesn’t give him enough credit!
Paolo is passionate, vibrant, charismatic and ultra talented!
His music is from the heart and his songs tell us a story where we are transported to wherever he is.
To see him play all the instruments he does live will leave you in awe. He puts Ed Sheeran to shame with his simple beats and acoustic layers. Paolo plays drums, guitar, bass, keyboards, harmonica and more...at once!

The passion this man has for his music is astounding. Imagine an octopus with the dexterity of an Olympic athlete coupled with the musical genius of David Byrne and you may get an idea of Paolo's unbelievable talent. Touted as the modern one-man-band. Paolo is more than that. His music is more like watching an artist paint a picture. Building piece on piece, rubbing bits out and reworking. Each time you see him, the songs are the same but different. To mix and loop live each time he plays is something to behold. Paolo plays a mixture of his own songs and covers. The covers become his songs as he applies his own very unique spin. Paolo's recoded work is a great showcase for him but it is live where you can really appreciate this man's true talent. Paolo Morena..... that's a byword for "fantastic evening of entertainment." Great songs, great crowd interaction - and just about the best looper this world has ever seen. .. Actually, people talk about his looping a lot!!!.... but they always skip is mastery of the guitar, bass, drums and keys... he really is an accomplished musician and songwriter - and the looping - exquisite as it is - is merely a way of bringing you his art in a neat little package (a bit like himself, frankly). He has energy enough to power a sizeable city for months on end... go see him.. he's at the Bay Horse tonight (7th October) in Moulsham Street... and it won't cost you a thing!!!! unless you're generous enough to support him by buying an album or two.... and on top of all that.... he's a fabulous human being... This from September 10th...

Been a while since I've posted a live music review from The Vic, what with holidays, and summer, and stuff, but today seems like a good day to start again.

Mind you, it's Paolo Morena, so if you've seen him you won't need a review: people change the dates of their holidays to see this guy, but if you haven't, well, where to start?

A loop artist of obscene talent hardly does him justice. You really need to watch him start a song, and with a shiver like a snake shedding its skin move onto another instrument while the echoes of his previous phrases still permeate the atmosphere, until he builds up an astonishing depth of sound coming from his own ghosts surrounding him unseen in the corner of the pub, a siren chorus, each drawing you deeper down into the layers of sound until the only sense you have of the world outside his deftly woven cocoon is the hairs standing up on the back of your neck.

He is very good.



And then half an hour later......

You know when you're a football reporter for a paper covering an evening match and you have to get your copy in before the final whistle, and you report on a quiet one nil victory for the home side, but by full time it's turned into a seven goal thriller?

Well, Paolo did the same to me: my earlier report filed just after half time failed to anticipate the pub-rocking second half of his set: Zeppelin's Rock'n'Roll recreated out of nothing into a stadium filling sound; Gnarls Barclay's Crazy segued into Stand By Me in a ten minute tour de force, and then the pub shaken to its foundations by his own Saturday Night.

Just shows what live music can be, if you're very, very lucky. More...

The creative beauty of this mans soul and the way he layers his music building slowly to a crescendo that is symphonic has to be seen to be believed. The quality of his songwriting, the passion that emits from his very being and the humbleness of the man who does not realise just how his creative genius affects the hearts and minds of the audience means that if you don't see this artist live, you are missing out. Just had an exclusive of The Scar Runs Deep mastered and mixed, its incredible. Another top tune from Paolo. I cant wait for the new album. Will be playing out on my radio show tomorrow.
