We offer all sorts of sewing services, from basic repairs right up to bridal alterations. All work is carried out on an appointment only basis. You'll get one to one personal service. Our pop-up fitting clinics can be found once a week in Sherborne.

On Tuesday, 4 days before my wedding day I rang Laura due to my dress not fitting. Laura, sounded very confident over the phone and reassured me and my mum and asked us to come in at 10am next morning in which we did. Laura looked at the dress and explained what we could do and told me to just relax and everything will be fine and to come back the day before my wedding for a final fitting.On Friday went to see Laura, told me she had a plan b, but shouldn’t need it. Once dress was on it was perfect, it did up perfectly. We spoke about possible reasons why dress didn’t fit and was due to other seamstress. Laura came to dress me on my wedding day, with short notice. Couldn’t of asked for anyone better, she was amazing. She dressed me, my four bridesmaid, steamed all our dresses including flower girls. Helped my brothers and dad with their suits, Laura went beyond what anyone asked of her. I can’t thank you enough for saving our day, without you my dress was ruined and our morning of our wedding went smoothly due to having you there. More...

Cannot rate The Little Pincushion highly enough! I was let down elsewhere by my sons cake smash people who had an outfit made via my deposit. They cancelled and kept the outfit despite them being my ideas. I contacted THIS fab company who instantly went to get materials to make my sons outfit for his cake smash booked elsewhere and birthday party The final outfit was/is amazing!!!! fitted perfectly and looked better than i ever imagined! What do you love most about your job?
I love meeting different people, and the variety of work. No two jobs are ever the same. I love a chat, you learn so much from just talking to people, it's an amazing job.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I've always had an interest in art and design. I studied at The Arts Institute before I had children. I found that I could sew even with the kids around, and it's an amazing creative outlet. I soon found myself helping out on the RAF stations where I lived with the tailoring and general sewing of uniforms and evening wear. And the business was born. Since then it's grown from strength to strength. Today I'm able to offer a huge array of services. Including covering areas in and around Sherborne and Frome, by using both the pop-up clinic and the studio space.
Why should our clients choose you?
The atmosphere is always friendly and relaxed. And the standard of work is incredibly high. I pride myself on my attention to detail. I've teamed up with some local retailers, to also be able to offer drop-offs. Which means if you don't need a fitting, you're welcome to pop your garments in to one of these retailers without an appointment.

Our main studio can be found near Frome, but if you're not that local we also offer a pop-up fitting clinic in Sherborne. Both of these require appointments, so please visit the website to book yours.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We ask that customers wear masks when in the studio or the pop-up clinic. During fittings and close contact the member of staff will also be wearing a mask.
Clothing Alterations
All sorts of clothing alterations are undertaken. From taking up a pair of trousers to altering prom dresses.
Bridal Alterations
