Chris did my hair today and it has never looked better. Not only is he one of the nicest people I've ever met, but his knowledge is second to none, not only about everything to do with hair, but his essential oil knowledge too! He totally put me at ease, as I was precious about getting my hair cut, but he quite rightly told me it needed to be done. I left myself completely in his hands and I couldn't be happier. The studio itself was absolutely gorgeous and the staff couldn't have been better (even putting on a song I told them about - even if it was embarrassing!) And an absolutely smashing cup of tea! I came to Junkyard a few weeks ago after feeling really tired of my hair. I wanted someone to tell me exactly what I would suit, and be enthusiastic when I suggested I go a crazy colour. I have always been brunette, and when I said I fancied peach, that was exactly the service I received. Toria was really thorough in advising me on how to treat my hair and was checking up on me throughout to make sure the bleach wasn't hurting. I was there for about three hours having a complete re-style and I was excited throughout. Kat cut my hair exactly how I wanted it (first time in my entire life!) and styled it perfectly.

I cannot thank the team there enough. My new style was exactly what I needed and I think now I look how I feel. I feel so confident and I love my hair! I've never had so many compliments so thank you, thank you, thank you!

I can here for the first time the other day. The irl that did my hair completely put me at ease she new exactly what she was talking about and how to treat my hair. The Junkyard is the only place I will get my hair done � I always leave in love with my new hair and feeling like I've really been listened to when I've told Rachelle the ideas I've had!
I also work with these guys doing the makeup for photoshoots and can I just say they're the best hosts ever! Such a dream to work with this creative lot, besides them all being insanely talented, spending a day with them is always full of laughter. My first time here this morning, had a restyle with the lovely Laura! I came out feeling like a new woman. Went for the first time yesterday for a complete restyle from purple and grey to bright blue! Rachelle asked me lots of questions about my hair history and explained that we wouldn't get to blue in one go which I totally understood. We decided to bleach it and see what we ended up with. I'm pretty open minded about colour but all the way through rachelle made sure I was happy with how it was looking so far. I told her to go with what she thought and we ended up with a beautiful peachy pink!

For being bleached so much, my hair is in amazing condition and I love the cut. Already booked my next appointment!

Yes the price was a little steep but for a complete restyle I can't complain for the job that was done.

I haven't yet been to the studio to have my hair cut or styled, but I have used their photography studio.
The shop looks very creative, welcoming and the photography studio is very well equipped, with plenty of lights, heads and space in the scoop.

The staff and owners are very friendly and helpful too. Great to have a chat too as well, everyone seems bubbly and want to be there.

I would definitely go back in the near future, I recommended giving them a visit too. More...

I came to the Junkyard after asking on my Facebook for some personal recommendations for really good hairdressers in Newcastle and I was not disappointed! I have a really awkward cows lick right in the centre of my fringe and have only ever managed to find 1 person who can cut it to sit straight... well now i have 2 :) thank you so much to Laura for cutting my fringe in record time and it being perfectly straight! xx More...

I went to the Junkyard yesterday for the first time and I love the way Kat cut my hair! I am always a little nervous about trying new salons as although ‘hair grows’ it’s a slow process! I was so glad I went as from the moment I entered I was made to feel welcome! I loved the fact that all the staff seemed genuinely interested and enthusiastic about what people were having done. I loved that Kat actually suggested things to me - she really knew what she was talking about and even started talking about future hair cuts and what she could do next! Got my hair cut here for the first time today by a lovely girl called Cat. She gave a recommendation for a style I hadn't tried before so I let her do her thing and I'm very happy with the results!
