How important is a healthy diet to someone’s health and wellbeing?
Typical diets exceed the recommended intake levels or limits in four categories: calories from solid fats and added sugars; refined grains; sodium; and saturated fat.
Poor nutrition can contribute to stress, tiredness and it reduces performance. Long term it can increase the risk of serious health problems such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, depression, some cancers and obesity.
The latest statistics show that more than half of the UK population- 65% of men and 58% women are overweight or obese. This is a combination of eating more calories than needed, leading a sedentary life and adopting bad habits.
How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?
I have certifications in Nutrition and fitness Level 3 and a diploma in sports nutrition. I have been a wellness coach for over a year and a half now and I love helping people to change their habits and understand their bodies. I also work alongside other consultants to deliver mental health and improve performance.
