Micheal has been brilliant with my dog Cherry, shes a 5 year old rescue Jack Russell that we have had for over a year, she came from battersea with few behaviour problems. After her previous dog walker said he could no longer take her because of her disruptive behaviour and a with having no luck with her previous dog trainer. I asked for Michaels help. He quickly taught cherry some basic commands within one short training session at our home and gave us some training to do at home. The training was quick and efficient, we saw a difference in her behaviour straight away. After he took her in a few walks over a couple of weeks cherry was playing with other dogs off the lead and has even been able to settle in the car, which she previously wouldn't do. It's been like having a different dog, she is well behaved both in and outside the house. Taking her for a walk is now a pleasure and no longer stressful. Michael has worked wonders with our beagle, Digby - who is not the easiest of dogs, as he’s super clever, cheeky and greedy! Since Michael has been looking after Digby, he’s a much calmer, happier dog. He even has okay recall - and for a beagle, that’s pretty impressive!! Digby loves spending his days with Michael and we know that when he’s with him, Digby is well taken care of, exercised plenty and loved. We trust Michael implicitly with Digby. Michael has been incredibly patient and helpful with training my shy rescue dog Frida. We booked him for one of his excellent 1:1 behaviour sessions, and I‘ve also joined him on walks in Crystal Palace park, so Frida could build up her confidence interacting with his day care dogs. He is very knowledgable and in tune with the dogs he looks after. It shows how much they adore and listen to him. Frida has improved immensely, and meeting Michael and learning about his techniques has been a real pleasure! Our puppy Ledley had developed a few bad habits at his last daycare and they recommended we consider Michael aka the Dog Guru. In no time, Michael corrected for those behaviours. We moved to the local area in June 2017 with an excitable, energetic and slightly troublesome Jack Russell. Prior to moving here, we were always nervous and apprehensive to walk him off the lead but Michael has given us the confidence to do so, which has massively improved his behaviour both home and out walking. He’s a regular at Michael’s day care and each day he returns from the day care and heads straight up the stairs to bed where he stays for the rest of the night. Michael has looked after my lovely goldie, Frank for number of years as I travel a lot for work but cannot bare the thought of him in kennels. He gets the best option available and moves in and becomes part of Michaels household!! He comes back happy and exhausted and now is one of the most socialised and content doggies I know. Frank also has to be on a special diet but this has never been a problem when staying with Michael even when its for few weeks. I would not hesitate to recommend Guide You Dog as the best place to leave you dog when you are away. More...

I often walk with Michael in the park and I see first hand how amazing he is with his dogs, they all adore him! My dog Betsy has always had a fear/dislike of the car boot and from being a puppy has NEVER jumped in and believe me we have tried everything. She is a doberman cross and now fully grown weighing in at nearly 40kgs so something had to be done. It is not an exaggeration to say Michael managed to get her to jump in on her own accord within 5 minutes. He just has a way with dogs where they do whatever he asks of them. Now she is happy to jump in for me (with a treat) but it is such a welcome relief after 18 months of having to lift her in! Would highly recommend. More...

Michael helped us tremendously with our surprise adoption of our lovely miniature schnauzer, Chippy. When we first got him, he was quick to bite people and other dogs (often drawing blood) when he got scared, he had no recall, was not apt to listen to many commands at all, and was nearly impossible to walk on the lead as he pulled so much, but was terrified of anyone so much as speed walking near him. He was very nervous and we lacked the training experience or skills to help support him as much as he needed. Michael came to our home and advised us on what we needed to be doing, he answered all of my messages when I over-momed and was nervous I wasn't doing the right thing. When I thought Chippy needed extra exercise and socialisation and took him to doggy daycare with Michael, he was incredible in telling me that this was not what Chippy needed, that he did not need so much exercise (he can be quite lazy now) and he needed to be at home with us, that we just needed more faith in ourselves and our newfound training abilities. Chippy has completely transformed over the past few months, and so have we, as Michael really supported us in feeling confident enough to lead and make Chippy feel safe and supported. My puppy, Marley, was 6 months old when I first met Michael. I was beginning to look for a dog walker or doggy day care for a few days per week, mainly so that Marley could socialise when I went out to work. I was impressed with how quickly he responded to Michael and how welcoming the rest of the pack were.I asked Michael to help me encourage Marley to swim. It didn't take long and now Marley loves to jump into the lake on hot summer days to cool off with his friends. Michael takes the dogs to a variety of parks in the area and he often cycles with them, as long as all the dogs can manage it. The dogs love being at Michael's home and treat it as their own, with it's cosy log fire, spacious garden and tasty bones. More...

When we moved to South London we needed a reliable and trustworthy dog walker for our 5 year old Parson Russell terrier. Following an introductory meeting in his home, we started using The Dog Guru. That was 5 years ago. In that time we have seen what a close bond our dog has developed with Michael, she truly loves him and enjoys every time he arrives. Michael has always been prompt and timely but flexible as well having accomodating my wife and I's varying schedules. It is important that when you select your dog walker that you feel you are choosing someone who not only wants to be with your dog that they also have the responsibility and skill to take care of them well.
