The Dickens Carolers

I went to see A Christmas Carol at the ornate historic ACT Theater, and these carolers were singing in front of the big Christmas tree in the lobby before the show. As I walked up to this floor, the gorgeous a cappella singing of this quartet flowed through the stairwells, balconies and rooms until reaching them face to face and full sound on the floor of the Allen Theater. They wore beautiful Victorian period clothing, dressed for outdoor cold weather like traditional street carolers would do back then, singing old Victorian Christmas carols. They engaged the audience in a lively way, smiling and nodding in a very expressive style. There were tables with a food and beverage order bar here, so you could just sit and enjoy the truly lovely music. It did make me feel like I was back in Victorian times at Christmastime, right in the heart of a Dickens Christmas story. A truly delightful, charmed, and magical experience. More...

What a lovely and magical touch these amazing singers added to our housewarming/holiday party! We just bought a house and since it happens to also be around the holidays we decided to combine the two! I love carolers and set out to search for someone who could sing at our party...that is when I found The Dickens Carolers. I couldn't be more pleased.From the moment I made first email contact and then a follow up phone call every question I asked was answered and the correspondence was so quick! The carolers arrived right on time and were so friendly and really made the whole night! They sang my favorite song, took requests, and even sang a song in German! It truly was a magical night! The Dickens Carolers sang in our office lobby today. Their singing is wonderful! Really puts you in the Christmas spirit. They are expressive and you can tell they are enjoying themselves and not just going through the motions . Their Victorian costumers were great - high quality and looked legit. My father hired them to surprise my mom at her 80th birthday party and they far exceeded our expectations!  They engaged the spectators and their arrangements were so well done they sounded like they had more singers and instruments than they did.  I would definitely recommend them and would hire them again! Occasion:  Holiday PartyThese guys and gals are great.  I enjoyed the full hour they sung and if I were hosting any event, I would definitely hire them.  They sang a lot of tunes both old and new.  My wife and I were really impressed with their performance.  Their costumes are the old Victorian style, which they wear during the performance.  It's just really nice hearing them sing versus me singing and butchering the song(s) up.  Happy Holidays! This Christmas Caroling Company is hands down the number one caroling group in Southern California. A little about me to validate my opinion. I am a restauranteur in LAS VEGAS and an avid music lover/ ex musician.  As I am extraordinarily picky about music, and being disappointed with the level of musicianship of singers in Las Vegas (yes, the entertainment capital of the world) I reached out to several caroling companies in So Cal to help with Christmas caroling at my restaurant.  Upon speaking to the owner/director of the group, I immediately new I had found the right company.  First of all, as we started talking about his groups, I found out he has a doctorate in music from USC, but not only that, I just could tell how demanding he was of his musicians by his acute attention to the details.I contracted Charles Dickens Carolers for the first week engagement Christmas time 2008 and I've hired them back every year.  Mind you, it's an expensive proposition for me to put them up etc, but so is my commitment to quality music.Every engagement they have shown up 15 min early, impeccably attired and well prepared.  They took guests request at the tables and rarely were they stumped.  Particularly popular was their doo-wap version of "Oh, Holy Night".  Guests LOVED IT!! Their intonation was extraordinary, especially considering they were in a loud hustle and bustle restaurant, the voices were masterfully matched, and blend was flawless.  That all pales to how remarkably polished the group was, it's as if these singers had sung together for decades!Thank you Dickens Carolers for exemplifying excellence not only in Los Angeles & Orange County, but also Las Vegas!GG More...
