What do you love most about your job?
I particularly enjoy helping people who are overwhelmed or who have lost hope to discover hope. It is very rewarding to see a client through a therapeutic process to a new depth of understanding and joy in living.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I began my training at the Pastoral Counseling Centers of Tennessee (now known as Insight Counseling) and was there for almost 20 years. For about half of that time, I was in Executive Leadership of the organization. By the time I left, I was doing less counseling and more adminstrative duties. I missed my time focused on therapy and working with clients. I left that position in 2016 to return to my original calling and my original love - pastoral psychotherapy.
Why should our clients choose you?
I was trained as a hospital chaplain and a pastoral counselor. I have experience with more in-depth psychotherapy, but also have training in marriage & family therapy. I like looking for the deeper roots of presenting problems, but always want to focus on practical application of whatever insight is gained. Because I have my own experience being the client in a therapy relationship, I know what it is like to sit on the other side of the room and I work to make every client feel comfortable in my office. The issues clients bring are not always "comfortable" issues, but I try to help each client grow and develop into a fullness of living. I am a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Therapist in Tennessee and am a Diplomate in the American Association of Pastoral Couselors.
