I have worked with Jordan and his team at a few events now. I have found them to be friendly and helpful. Great group of guys - I'm looking forward to the event at Cameron House this weekend 15th - 17th December 2017 :)

Jordan and his team are absolutely fantastic and work hard to deliver a great event. Looking forward to working with them again on Friday to get our Winter Festival set up for the weekend.
Helensburgh will be taking to the streets and absolutely buzzing with around 100 stalls mixing local retailers, crafters and farmers market. There's an ice ring and on Sunday we have ponies, reindeer and sheep - and 500 Santa's in the 'Dash'

Delicious coffee expertly brewed by two lovely, chatty, friendly faces. Somehow your drink is even more refreshing when you know it's from a social enterprise company too! Please keep caffeinating us.

Has anyone ever fully planned, organised and ran their own wedding? I have, and it's stressful. You have so many fine details to work out that you often overlook one key point.

Enjoyment.

When we were planning our wedding, we met Heather & Marcel at our venues open day where we were greeted with an utter joy of a conversation. I myself am not a coffee drinker, but my partner is, and that single cup off coffee we were offered sold the deal. It's very unusual to see her enjoy a cup so much, and from there we knew we had to have them at our wedding. They are both completely open and understanding of the choices we were interested in them providing and catered for us exactly as we were looking for (our wedding was completely vegan). No ask was too much much, sensibly organised and planned well in advance of time, always with a solution and answer to any question we brought up during our initial meets.

On the day itself, they couldn't have been more professional. Dealing with an onslaught of 90 people so fast, dishing out some of the nicest drinks, both taste and lookwise (well played guys) we couldn't have asked for more. The feedback was exactly that, the enjoyment of having two absolutely fantastic people be part of our day was enough for me but the comments on the drinks themselves couldn't have been more praising.

No stress. No fuss. Amazing coffee and even more amazing people.

In a nutshell, if you ever need someone to cater for the coffee addicts at any event (don't forget teas and hot chocolate also), please do not hesitate to give these guys a call.

You will not regret them in the slightest.

Much love. J & F.

Q&As

We are passionate about helping improve the lives of others and ensuring our environmental impacts are minimised. We are humbled to know that we are making a difference with each event that we attend. The more we grow the more we are able to contribute to positive social and environmental outcomes, and that is incredibly fulfilling for us.

We also love making coffee!

After studying and travelling for four years we found it difficult to find a job in which we felt like we were making a difference. We started The Common Grind because it meant we could fulfil this dream and because we knew we had the necessary industry skills and experience to do it well.

We also attended a few weddings and events in the lead up to opening The Common Grind and found that good coffee and tea was seemingly hard to come by. We figured that maybe we could add something special to someone's event or occasion by providing a service that closes this gap.

If you're forking out hundreds of £'s for a hot beverage catering service, then it should be something unique and tasteful, not generic. Our hand crafted wooden coffee cart will add atmosphere and character to your event. Your guests will enjoy a real coffee, not instant from an urn. They'll watch it being made from the moment our grinder fills the room with the smell of freshly ground coffee, to the moment our barista's carve their latte art into the crema of a golden espresso. Then they'll walk away knowing that their coffee didn't come from farms where workers are underpaid, and that their cup is 100% compostable and will help more trees to grow! Like you we think it's the little things that count, and like you we'll make sure the little things have been considered.
