Limited seating so make sure you call ahead, we were lucky to get a spot on a Friday night last minute. The food and drinks here are all clearly fresh and with quality being a high priority. This food is authentic Latin cuisine which is a major plus! We shared Azteca guacamole with plantain chips, a decanter of margaritas in which it was a simple and delicious margarita (i.e. don't expect the super sugary junk). I had tacos al pastor which were delicious, tender and well seasoned. I was torn about getting the fish tacos but from other reviews I needed to get a taste of the pork! I was not disappointed. I even remarked the side of beans, which to me often are pretty standard, had actual flavors coming out, I could taste seasoning and I believe a stock or meat was used too? Don't quote me on that, but they were good. Clearly attention to detail in every bite of the food. I had no room for dessert but I look forward to coming back and trying more of the menu. More...

This is a great hidden gem in MKE. It was my first visit and to say that it was just delicious is an understatement. This is by far one of the best Mexi-latin food spots I've been to in MKE since I moved here a year ago. Everything is all natural, organic, and homemade, even the freaking margaritas, mi gente! I ordered the Pineapple Pastor that my wife was going to order and it was a great decision. So flavorful and well-balanced. The Enmoladas she ordered were also on-point. I had the Churros for dessert..SO GOOD. Tony was our server and he is also the owner. He was a great host and super gracious. A repeat visit (or 10) is definitely in order. Bravo!! More...

I'd never had a dining experience like it.I ordered the lamb lollipops, which were served over mashed plantains with glazed carrots. The lamb was perfectly done, and the mashed plantains were completely new to me in this form. It was the perfect combination of savory and sweet. We stumbled here by accident after Story Hill BKC didn't have room for us...and were so glad we did! The food was incredible! Really unique and authentic Mexican cuisine - just truly special dishes. But even more than that, the staff went out of their way to make our whole group (which included family members visiting from overseas) feel welcome and at home throughout the evening. Our waiter patiently walked us through each item on the menu and helped us all order something we'd like (we have some dietary restrictions and they were so accommodating of that).Also, breastfeeding mamas, this place is extremely breastfeeding friendly! I have a five-month old who I needed to breastfeed at one point and I was preparing to take her to the bathroom so we could have some privacy. (I fully support nursing in public, but am self conscious about doing it myself so I usually try to find a private space when I can.) Our waiter saw what I was about to do and told me there's no need to go to the bathroom if I don't want to - that they fully support "open feeding" and I should feel free to feed her right there in the restaurant, with or without a cover - whatever I felt comfortable doing. As a breastfeeding mother who just wants to be able to feed my baby when I need to without stress or too much inconvenience, this was so amazing to hear. I immediately felt comfortable and relaxed, as opposed to feeling stressed and rushed like I often do when I have to nurse her in public. So, thank you Tavos Signature Cuisine for an unforgettable night! We are already talking about when we can come back with the whole crew! More...

This is some of the best Mexican and Latin American food in the Milwaukee metro area. The mole verde is unique. The pastor is extremely flavorful, and the pineapple gives it that extra flavor. They have 3 different kinds of guacamole which is pretty nice. The rice and beans are not your typical refried mess you get at other joints. The prices are a bit more than some other spots, but you get what you pay for. Oh...I would be remiss if I didn't mention the margaritas. Yum! More...

If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. Every single thing that comes out of that kitchen is made to perfection. I swore to myself I wouldn't eat another Gordita after living off of them in Bernal. .. these blew me away. Authentic, beautiful and all around a masterpiece on a plate. The horchata was perfect and don't get me started on the pastor that came in the halved pineapple... COME ON!!!!!! We have tried to make it to Tavos numerous times and sadly this was our first visit. But let me tell you it is now directly at the top of our dining list. Also open late! They serve until 11 on Fridays. Can't wait to return! More...
