Sweat occupies a 3,000 sq.ft warehouse space and exists to provide an environment free from any intimidation or the usual gym crowds. Our bespoke classes have a maximum of 10 participants and include Barre, Bars+Bells (free-weights), IMPACT (HIIT), TRX and Circuits.

I joined 5 weeks ago, started with PT with the amazing Eva! I cannot recommend this enough, I didn’t do any exercise previously and from day I was made to feel comfortable and pushed enough out of my comfort zone to really enjoy it and not be frightened of going back. Now I’ve started the classes it’s a great atmosphere everyone is friendly and regardless of your fitness level you always feel like you’ve done a great job. I’ve had nine months of personal training at Sweat Southsea and I cannot recommend it highly enough. I was looking for a place where the personal trainers were professional, experienced, knowledgeable and kind, and I found all of this and more at Sweat. Personal trainer doesn't always mean personal, it sometimes means trainer with a slice of personal.

Been going to kettlebells at SWEAT since the week they opened, now also doing the HIIT and Core class with Abbie.
SWEAT doesn't feel like a typical gym, the classes are a good laugh, and a really good work out which they scale to everyones ability, makes getting fit fun!

The simple things I can do now which a year ago would have made me breathless/light-headed is amazing. There are lots of things I didn't really think of beyond weight loss and living longer when I started out! No more gasping for air after one flight of stairs. No more fatigue during my travels. Holding heftier cameras isn't a challenge anymore, clothes shopping is more rewarding and less a looming chore, and the simple enjoyment of a range of sports is immensely fulfilling. Plus, of utmost importance, enhancing your physical health can hugely improve your mental health. I've even got into running! Which means I can run for trains, or run after cats I want to pet.

All of this has come about over just one year at SWEAT Southsea, where the personal trainers and the one-to-one sessions, classes, and to-the-side advice they give has changed countless aspects of my life for the better. They're all fun and friendly, but they have the experience, knowledge, and professionalism to push you to your limits, to get the most out of every workout.

Plus, the work the SWEAT team are doing beyond the gym to promote healthy lifestyles in Portsmouth is hugely important. And they're doing it brilliantly.

I've been training with SWEAT Southsea for just over a month now and think they're great. I go to SWEAT Outdoors on Saturday mornings, which is hard work but also fun. The trainers are always extremely encouraging, with a variation of exercises each week to target different muscle groups, strengthening and cardio. The atmosphere amongst the group is always positive and encouraging, working as a team as well as improving yourself as an individual. I also love how Luke and Mark make a point of learning people's names instantly. Think it's a great quality!!
Beginners Kettlebells (a new class to me) is awesome. Each exercise is broken down and technique shown and individually checked, which is great as ensures safety, as well as making sure we feel the benefits.

Can't recommend SWEAT enough!! They are very professional and passionate about not only their craft but helping others achieve their fitness goals.

Really enjoyed the free weights classes with Yasmin and Lily.
Lot's of options to go away and try and exercises that suit me and my workout.
Loved the circuit at the end of todays class.....would be good to tag that on to all of them if possible.

Not long been home from the Beginners Free Weight class with Yas and Lily. It was absolutely brilliant! The other girls in the class were so lovely and Yas and Lily ran the class so well! I have been with Sweat Southsea for the last few months and I get told all the time how well I look, that is testament to how well the PT's look after me, with both fitness and nutrition, they have never not been there for me. Services

Sports Massage is a form of manual therapy designed to assist in relieving tightness and correcting imbalances in soft tissue that can be caused from repetitive and strenuous physical activity or the stress of every day life.

Sports massage has many health benefits for everyone, no matter how active you are. Some of these benefits include relief of stiffness and soreness, improvements to mobility, flexibility and posture, injury prevention and improves soft tissue healing after injury or heavy training. Our highly trained sports massage therapists can relieve your soft tissue aches and pains, whether it’s muscle soreness after training for a competition or just tension after a long week in the office. They can also advise on stretches to try at home to help prolong the positive effects of treatment.

Initially, our Therapists will test the degree of function – including range of motion, strength and load-bearing capability. After an in-depth assessment of the injured area and surrounding tissues, manual therapy techniques such as massage and manipulation will be applied to ease any pain or stiffness. Following this, a comprehensive programme of remedial exercises to help mobilise, strengthen and/or improve flexibility as required will be specifically created. A progressive programme and ongoing assessment is central to a successful recovery from injury and our Therapists will help ensure your technique and exercise intensity is correct throughout.

Our team of expert professionals boast a range of specialist skills and qualifications and are constantly motivated to improve their knowledge and skill. We’re not filling our gym mindlessly with trainers; Instead, we’re committed to keeping our team small but strong.

We offer a private and comfortable environment, free from the usual gym crowds and without any sign-up or membership fees; occupying over 3,000 sq ft, we’re the only facility of our kind in Portsmouth and Southsea.

At SWEAT Southsea, you'll find everything you need to achieve your goals and enjoy diverse workouts; TRX suspension trainers, Concept 2 rowing machines, kettlebells, dumbbells, barbells and squat racks alongside a full range of functional fitness equipment such as plyometric boxes, sandbags, medicine balls and battle ropes.
