What do you love most about your job?
I would say it is the variety of the work. The books I have proofread have been in a variety of subjects - such as the academic subjects of accounting and finance, banking, economics, education, history, management, and social studies. I have also covered such areas as travel and tourism, polar and mountain exploration, fishing, sailing, crafts, DIY and even classic cars - Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Mercedes, and Porsche to name but a few.
But it has not been just books as I have proofread academic and vocational journals, educational materials, and marketing materials.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I liked the idea of starting my own business working from home and using the management experience and knowledge of finance and property gained from previous employment. I can choose my own hours and select the pace of work that suits me. But that is not to say that I do not work very hard - sometimes the pressure is on when I have a tight deadline to meet.
