This was probably the best decision in our life, to choose Start the Dance for our first wedding dance. We can't thank Jess enough for how she made us dance, the patience she had with us and for how she contributed at making the most beautiful memories. Thank you!!!✨ ✨

Lesley came to our home for our dance lessons; she took the time to get to know us, our vision and our song. We felt encouraged and challenged but most of all it gave us SUCH confidence knowing we were not going to be standing and swaying for 3 minutes. Lesley worked with our pace perfectly; she knew exactly when we were getting too much ‘in our heads’ and needed to step away from the choreography and just have a chat about the big day.Our dance was one of the highlights of the wedding day, everyone was gathered and completely engaged. We choose Start the Dance because we found that it got very high reviews on google. And they really deserve it, as they replied me very quick, and our dance teacher Katja is very kind and patient. Every time we dance very happy and work and communicate very well. And also, we really like the one she taught us, which is “Perfect- Ed sheeren & Beyonce”. it worked excellent on our wedding day. We only learned for 4 courses( 2hrs for each course), and completed in one month. But our friends all think that we probably learned for 3months. Now we got some photos from our friends and families. We had a single dance lesson with Leanne a week before our wedding. The booking process was easy - Leanne came to our flat and was brilliant! We were both nervous about our first dance and just wanted to learn some basics - we were both much more comfortable after just an hour's lesson, and could even do some twirls! Louise is a fantastic teacher! We had 4 lessons with Louise, she was so encouraging and enthusiastic. She was so lovely and and easy to work with, explaining the moves and demonstrating them to us as many times as we needed. We were very happy with the style of our wedding dance routine. Myself and my (now) husband are really not the type of people who like to perform in front of others so we felt quite apprehensive about learning a dance routine for our wedding, but we knew we wanted to do more than just hold each other up during our first dance so we decided to bite the bullet and have lessons. I really appreciated the services that Start the Dance offer, as you can easily and affordably book lessons based on your availability, and an instructor will come to your home and teach you a routine for your chosen song. It's great because you aren't tied in, in any way; you simply decide how many lessons you will need based on what you've learnt in the initial lesson. In the end we only needed two 1 hour lessons to learn our routine. We were given the lovely Georgina how thought up a great routine for us, she made us feel very comfortable and we actually had a lot of fun with her and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a taster with another company for our wedding first dance and it just wasn't the vibe we were after. We found start the dance after a google search and I called Jess to talk about what we were looking for in our dance, she was so lovely and accommodating and it felt like chatting to an old friend! Our dance instructor Milli listened to our ideas and choreographed an amazing dance that we are so excited to surprise our guests with. Not only is this fun to do to show everyone at your wedding but it's really nice to spend this time with your fiancé learning something together! I cannot recommend start the dance enough, don't bother looking elsewhere! To say our first dance went down amazingly is possibly one of the biggest understatements ever. We had managed to keep it a secret from every single guest so no one had a clue what was coming. The dance took our guests from saying “the venue and food are amazing” to “this is the best wedding we have ever been to”.Out of all the money we spent on the wedding, I think the best money we spent was on the dance lessons. Not only did it finish off our incredible wedding day perfectly, the lessons were great fun and such a good chance to escape the stress of wedding planning. I booked Ellie who came to our house for a one off session. She was amazing and managed to choreograph our first dance in an hour! She tailored the dance to meet our needs of wanting it to look natural. Ellie took time to talk about exactly what we wanted from our dance. She also expressed which lifts were good for pictures. We found Start the Dance because of the wonderful video on their website which showed very relaxed and happy grooms. We had a wonderful experience learning our wedding dance with Danielle.
In all honesty, I was quite anxious before we met Danielle, because I had absolutely no idea what to expect. But as soon as we met Danielle, I felt totally at ease. She had the confidence to make us feel we were in safe hands, but she was also completely open to our feedback and understanding of what we wanted the dance to be.
Courtney and I are both really excited to head over to Australia to get married, and we're sure we're going to have a lot of fun showing off our first dance.

We chose Start the Dance purely based on their high ratings on Google and we were not disappointed. From the moment we e-mailed to enquire, we were impressed by the level of service and professionalism. The pricing for 4 x 90 minute lessons was so reasonable, especially considering the teachers make house calls if you live within a certain zone (that made our life so much easier without having to travel). Our teacher was Albert and he was just simply amazing. He was always on time and was so talented with his choreography. After only 4 lessons, we were confident in performing our carefully choreographed dance in front of all our friends and family. Jess was amazing!! It's hard to describe just how much she managed to transform my husband & I in time for our first dance. We started off as complete beginners & by the end of our sessions felt more than comfortable twirling each other round the dance floor in front of all our guests (including what we classed as expert moves!)!

We also really loved spending time with Jess & the sessions became the highlight of our wedding planning (for my husband too who was definitely a little skeptical of doing dance classes before we met Jess!).

Katie was an excellent, patient and fun dance teacher. We were looking for someone to help us with a first dance for our wedding and she was perfect. Katie was very punctual and took the time to understand what we wanted to achieve out of the lessons. She is also super friendly and makes every effort to be supportive during the lessons. We thoroughly enjoyed Katie's company as well as her dancing lessons. We both 100% recommend Katie for any level of dancers! Like many of the reviews on here, neither me or my wife had any real dancing experience. We wanted to avoid the typical awkward shuffle for our first dance, as well as having plenty of spins for my wife to show off her dress!

Booking was fairly straightforward, called up with some details and was contacted back not long after with options for our first lesson. It was really helpful to have the option to have lessons at our house so we didn't have to travel far.

The lessons themselves were with Melissa. When she arrived she introduced herself and while we were getting music set up and shoes on had a bit of a chat to get comfortable, she came across straight away as very friendly and enthusiastic.

After listening through our choice of song she gradually introduced us to some basic steps, giving us plenty of time to successfully do each part before adding another until over the course of a couple of lessons we had our complete routine to practice.

We had another two lessons after those to get some more practice and advice. We felt that we learned and improved a great deal after each session, Melissa's instruction was incredibly helpful and patient (without going too easy on us, to make sure we were learning quickly in the short time available!). She also really matched our silly sense of humour and encouraged us to be ourselves and not try to be too serious while dancing, which was ideal for us!

Most importantly, when it came to the big day, we pulled off our routine more successfully than we could have imagined, to much applause from friends and family. We certainly couldn't have done it without Start the Dance and Melissa's help, thank you! More...

Sophie was incredible. My husband and I wanted a simple routine that we could pull off without looking too forced or serious and Sophie was the perfect girl to get us that. We have zero dancing skills or ability but she worked with us to find a routine that suited what we were going for and had incredible patience with us along the way. We had great fun working with Sophie on the 3 lessons we had together and ended up having so much fun doing the dance on the day (we really did). WOW! Start the Dance really, really exceeded our expectations. Our dance was above and beyond what I could have imagined we were capable of doing and especially in just 2 lessons so close to our wedding date. They make dancing so accessible, even if you have no experience like us!

We worked with Miriam in her studio. She is fantastic! She is so lovely and so talented and did a great job accommodating our short and hectic timetable, our requests, and our very beginner dance level. Our song had some strange timing in it and she helped guide us through that and made our dance look effortless.

We had so much fun working with her and practicing for our first dance. Miriam added in a dip and a lift at my request and those really got the crowd going! Judging by how many pictures our guests took during the first dance, this was a highlight of the day and we had a blast. Our new "skills" brought my sister-in-law who is a dancer to tears – the best compliment and testament to Miriam’s incredible teaching!

THANKS SO MUCH to Start the Dance (and to Michelle specifically) for helping my husband and I create and execute our perfect First Dance! We were rather nervous when we first got started, as my husband didn’t have much dance experience and I hadn’t ever done partner dancing, but Michelle was so warm and relaxed she made the whole experience really fun! We enjoyed learning and practicing, and she was great in that she encouraged us to do some really cool moves (like a lift!)
