I am disappointed with the wedding cake I received, and I feel compelled to share my experience. The cake did not match the description provided, and the overall quality was below expectations.
Firstly, the cake board was noticeably damaged upon delivery. This not only affected the presentation but also raised concerns about the overall handling and care put into creating the cake.
Secondly, the gold tier, which was supposed to be painted, was adorned with a ribbon instead. However, the ribbon had a prominent crease running along it, and its application appeared hasty and unprofessional. This not only deviated from the expected aesthetic but also reflected a lack of attention to detail.
The most disappointing aspect was the piping on the top tier, which looked like it had been smeared on rather than skillfully applied. The lack of precision in the piping significantly detracted from the cake's overall appearance and suggested a lack of craftsmanship.
Beyond the product issues, the customer service experience compounded my dissatisfaction. Attempts to address these concerns were met with poor responsiveness and unhelpful responses. The lack of accountability and effort to rectify the situation was disappointing and did not reflect a commitment to customer satisfaction.
In summary, the discrepancies between the described cake and the actual product, coupled with poor customer service, have left me with a negative impression of this bakery. I expected a beautifully crafted wedding cake, and unfortunately, my experience fell far short of this expectation.

We ordered our wedding cake through them. It was not what we paid for in terms of appearance and one of the sponges was heavy and stodgy. The cake edges were rounded and not sharp edges, had marks on the icing, bulging in various places, was mishapen and leaning and not the right colour either. We had paid extra for an additional tier for our wedding cake from special days as we had the cake as part of a wedding package. Due to COVID we had to reschedule our wedding and then my 2 grandparents passed away so we had to completely cancel our wedding. We have asked for a refund and was told they charge £25 per cancellation date but this is not within the term and conditions within the contract. We also paid for a cake topper which was never received either and asked for this to be told we keep them 6 months then dispose of them. We used this shop for our wedding cake and it couldn’t have been better, amazing quality and taste, staff were lovely when we went in for a tasting session too, the sugar flowers were made and coloured perfectly and I’d have no hesitation in recommending special days.

I phoned Special Days 3 days before my daughter's 21st in a panic because I had been let down by another company. I honestly thought there was no way they'd be able to help me, but I spoke to a lovely woman on the phone who was very reassuring that they'd be able to help. Within the hour I had a cake ordered and I am amazed at the quality. In just 3 days they made a cake that suited my daughter to a tee in colours she loves and it is absolutely delicious. Got my wedding cake from here and the customer service from beginning to end was fantastic and the cake was amazing. All my requests were listened to and followed through with different fillings in each layer of the cake. I would not hesitate to recommend this shop to anyone else. You can go and try for yourself. Having recently had my wedding cake from this shop I just wanted to give credit where credit is due. From my first phone call I felt I was in great hands. They had an answer for every question I asked. Nothing was too much trouble. I love the red velvet cake, the best I have ever tasted. On my wedding day the cake arrived and it was exactly what I ordered. My guest all complimented on how great it looked and tasted.
