Review From Michael McSweeney, Blisland, Bodmin......Having had a bad experience with building work in the recent past I have nothing but praise for this company. All the work was undertaken in a polite manner and to a high standard, completed on time and within the original quote.Nothing was too much trouble and I was consulted at each stage to ensure I was happy with the work completed.I would recommend this company and have asked for a quotation for additional work to be done. We had an outhouse transformed to a 'Garden Room' Richard and Helen were very prompt with their assessment and quote for the work in hand. They are very professional, the work is second to none and completed in a timely manner. Richard has amazing ideas and recycles products where he can. Don't look anywhere else, speak to Richard and Helen they will do you proud. More...

Recently employed the services of Helen and Richard to build a granite wall along the boundary of our property. We have been so impressed with the very high standard of work. We have asked them to do further work here and wouldn't hesitate in recommending them. More...

We found Southwest Heritage Construction/Property Maintenance offered a fantastic all round service assisting my wife and I with project management, material ordering etc and made the whole process far less stressful than it would it have been otherwise. Richard was able to offer advice and make valuable recommendations regarding the materials and methods to be used. The amount of work completed on a daily basis was astounding and great value for money. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone looking for great value building service. More...

Q&A

Things to consider when deciding if your garage is suitable for conversion would be as follows:- Depth of foundation, wall tickness/type, roof construction, location of nearby services, the ground conditions and local authority planning guidelines

Once the necessary consents, drawings and reports are in place, works can begin in accordance with architectural specification and structural specification.
Typically, the process would begin with ground works, followed by roof, followed by internal works to include insulation, structural floors, carpentry first fix followed by M & E first fix, followed by plaster works, carpentry and M & E second fix. At all stages works to be inspected by building control as works proceeds ro ensure compliance and final sign off.

25+ years in the building trade. I previously worked in the South East of England for a medium sized construction company who specialised in local authority contracts. I managed contracts ranging from £2M to £5M including school extensions/refurbs, new build and extensions to Dr Surgeries. Since relocating to the South West, my wife and I set up our own Construction business and have completed some noteable projects including a Watermill and a Chapel conversion. No job is too small and I wont be beaten on price!

All works are fully Insured. All works are guaranteed for a year.

Seeing completed projects and working in different places and meeting different people.

We enjoy our work and gain satisfaction from completing interesting projects large or small

We offer a flexible working approach and a quality of professionalism along with an extremely high quality of workmanship based on a wealth of knowledge and many years of experience.
