The people that the people that work here are absolutely phenomenal!!!I was calling around to a bunch of different places and didn't want to leave another voicemail. .. So I hung up as soon as I heard the machine turn on, BUT NOT ONE SECOND LATER the kindest lady who treated me like an old friend had called me right back! What company does that anymore? WOW, just Wow! Thank you a thousand times over Stacey for your patience, understanding and helpfulness in such a stressful time (it was literally freezing cold in my house)...Also your technician Pete, even though he was obviously busy at the end of his day-was super kind & helpful, and even took the time to repeat himself to make sure I understood the help he was giving me...(I was pretty frantic) What a wonderful world it would be if all customer oriented businesses would follow the example set by these people!! I could not be more happy with this outfit. When I called to try and get an urgent appointment, the representative, Stacy, gave me an extensive amount of info on what they may or may not be able to do and could not have prepared me better for what might come next, including possible costs. She gave me an arrival window and called to follow-up during the day with timing updates. The technician, Mike, arrived on time and went straight to work. He finished quickly, did a thorough job in every way and was polite and professional throughout. On top of it all, the company beat their own price estimate, not the mention the estimates I'd received from two other companies. Dealing with any type of a contractor is always hard for me. Mainly because it involves having a stranger come in my home to fix something I know nothing about and I ALWAYS have felt like I am being taken advantage of because i know so little about these things. Only one to reach out when calling around for a water heater replacement . Though had a slight problem with getting a 30 gallon heater though my luck something always delays my repairs. Just my luck. Lol. They took the time to find and replace my water heater. I found a plumber who not only provides service to mobile homes ( which is hard to find ) Josh and his crew did an excellent job. Reasonable price. He comes to you not to sticker shock but to be straightforward and honest. Most plumber's today love to point out more unnecessary work only to line their pockets. Not Josh. I've had a few issues with my steam heat system over the past few years and I was lucky enough to have Josh come out over a year ago to fix some of the issues. He and his team are professional, courteous and honest. The work was done when he said it would be and he explained everything along the way. What was wrong, what needed to be done, how much it should run and what could go wrong. When it was all done he went over things that I should keep an eye on in the future and what we may need to deal with later down the line as the system is a bit old and rough in some spots.As we thought, I developed another leak in one of the old sections this year and Josh was able to come out again to fix the situation. Just like the previous time he showed quickly to see what we were dealing with and what he would need to fix things. In the process he found that a safety cutoff had stopped working and was able to correct that as well.I've used Solution Based a few times now and each time has been a great experience. There's no surprises from them, there's explanations along the way and a real honest desire to serve and respect their customers. I have to say that my experience with Solution Based Plumbing has been exemplary. Josh and his team provided excellent service and a thorough explanation of the work that needed to be done. Most contractors/plumbers are not overly concerned about cleaning up after work has been done. This company went above and beyond to make sure everything was clean and protected while doing a 2 day job at my house. They're trustworthy, clean and fairly priced. Josh is the only person I have found who is able to deal with our steam heating system. Other repair firms wanted to replace the entire system with something else, or tried to fix our system without success. Josh was able to locate the problems and able to make long-lasting repairs. He was very careful to follow up on his work and make sure that everything was operating correctly and has been very responsive to our questions and concerns. He worked with us to explain the repairs to our insurance company. He also has contacts with very talented people who do high quality repair work. The owner and his wife are the best team around. They have been very accessible, always on time, always communicate in a timely and helpful way. My husband and I couldn't be happier about finding Solution Based Plumbing and Heating to repair our swim spa gas heater. We tried contacting numerous HVAC contractors who wouldn't touch it, since it is used for a spa . And swimming pool companies also wouldn't work on it, since they didn't sell it to us. We were really stuck. A last-ditch Google search turned up Solution Based Plumbing and Heating and after one call, Josh was out the next day and was able to quickly repair the heater for us. It has worked beautifully ever since. Even better, it didn't cost us an arm and a leg as we had feared.Solution Based really lived up to their name. Josh and his team did a wonderful job rebuilding a large section of my sewer. We had a backup in our yard drains late on a Sunday night. Already surprised that they answered the phone that late, Josh was out to review our problem the following morning. Over the next few weeks, his team had to dig out my entire back patio, repipe about 30' of sewer, tire in all of my pipes and the basement sump pump, clear out my french drain, then reapply new concrete to the back yard. They were extremely careful with my hardwood floors, employing the use of ram board and drop cloths to keep our home neat and clean. The job was done right and timely, his staff were both efficient and courteous and we've since had his company back to complete other projects for us along with recommending him to our friends and family. I was having serious problems with my toilet, went on the Internet, and Josh responded to my inquiry immediately and came over that day. Turned out that I needed a new toilet. This started a working relationship with him, his crew and his office manager/ life-partner, Stacey that felt like I was dealing with family. I say that because in the middle of waiting for the new toilet, I was hospitalized and Stacey sent a cheery helium balloon to me in the hospital that kept my spirits up. The new toilet Josh recommended was a "Toto" brand. Perfect fit to my 2013 renovated bathroom. In fact, I like it better than the previous one picked out by the designer. It works perfectly. Josh owner of Resolution Based is a master in his craft. First, discussed with us the source of the water in our basement, show us the source from which it was coming from and also explained some code violations our previous contractor made when installing our half bathroom. He is thorough and honest. We discussed with him the other estimates we had and he never once spoke poorly of the other companies. He is honest and the work is superior. I am very selective in reviewing a product or service. That said, I am reviewing my experience with Solution Based Plumbing and Heating without the slightest hesitation. My son and his fiancé own a new home in Fishtown. They paid in excess of 500k for the home and took possession at closing in January 2016. This is their dream home and represents a major financial commitment on their part.Since they took possession and ownership, their basement has flooded on two separate occasions in less than 6 months. As a result of the first flooding, the new flooring in the basement was damaged and now needs complete replacement. This expense will be borne by my son and his fiance. In addition, their worrisome concern about the prospect of future flooding has also led to capping the plumbing fixtures in the basement until some kind of fix can be achieved. This means the basement toilet and shower will not be usable for an indefinite period of time. On both occasions a significant amount of rain fell, so there may or may not be some question whether the combined sewer/waste water line that runs under their street was overly taxed by an unusually high volume of water that fed into the sewage line.However, the question of backflow of water into such a new house also raised a significant question about the adequacy and workmanship of the home's newly constructed plumbing system. In an effort to investigate the facts concerning the builder's performance, I reached out to Josh at Solution Based Plumbing on an early Sunday morning. That same morning, as he headed into church, Josh told me he would make himself available to look at the situation later that very morning!When he arrived for the inspection as promised, he looked around, explained his preliminary findings, and recommended that he do a camera test of the water lines to assess and evaluate the situation. He made clear he would call the situation as he found it, and that he would not come to any adverse decision about the plumbing if his findings were simply "marginal" for poor installation.Two days later, and as scheduled, Josh performed the camera test. He viewed the inside of the plumbing lines carefully and explained to my son and me what he was looking at as he went. He found two significant builder's performance issues in the water line leading out of the house to the street. He carefully detailed his observations and findings and explained their impact on the drainage issue and their contribution to the backflow my son experienced since moving into the house. He said he would follow up with a written report of his findings, and he proceeded to do so within 24 hours after leaving the house.IF EVER my son needs to deal with plumbing-related issues that the builder refuses to address under his warranty, my son (and I) will not hesitate to call Josh back for assistance. There are several reasons I can say this without hesitation.Josh is competent, well spoken, polite, professional, objective, responsive, and honest. He and his company provide a level of service that is uniquely reliable for customers who are looking for fair, honest and reasonably priced solutions to their plumbing problems. His wife, Stacy, provides tremendous administrative support to complement Josh's hands on involvement.This company and its owner/operator is the real deal that customers in need of plumbing services are looking for.
