Sociable Dog

I genuinely can't rate Si highly enough. I've had such great support from Sociable Dog over the years with both my own rescue greyhound and a number of challenging sighthounds that I have been working with in rescue. His advice is always easy to understand and follow (so important if people are going to stick to it!) and most importantly, kind to dogs and their guardians. He'll break things down for you, cheerlead you when your motivation is low and remind you of all the good things you've achieved if you are feeling more of the troughs than peaks! Through Si at Sociable Dog, I've learnt that progress is always possible when it comes to changing challenging dog behaviour and sometimes this far exceeds even my expectations! Sociable dog have given me huge amounts of support and confidence to work through the challenges I've experienced with my dog-reactive rescue greyhound, Moose. Si is just a brilliant guy who is super kind to dogs and just a lovely guy to work with. You'll get no judgements, no blaming, just a whole load of knowledge and skills, and confidence that you didn't know you possessed! I was lost and feeling hopeless and overwhelmed when I first encountered Sociable Dog. Simon has been my dog angel. He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what he does and how to achieve the best for your dog and you. He is very easy to work with both for the dogs and humans.
I am not a particularly experienced dog owner who took on a rescue dog from Romania with little information about her. She had few skills other than a willingness to learn and please, but also has some unpredictable issues and with Simons help we are starting to address them. He has been so supportive to us all -with e mails, you tube clips, information, recommendations about appropriate equipment and articles to read to help us understand. Not to mention a lot of much needed support and kind words. Which can not be understated how important they are when you feel like you are struggling.
We paid for the initial one to one session where we got lots of practical training with the understanding behind why this way works. I loved the fact no dog chooses to get scared any more than we do but we can all learn how to deal with it better. A journey for all of us in life. The session was definitely value for money.

Si was brilliant - spent plenty of time getting to know us and our dog Angus, and explaining the reasons behind his behaviours, Gave us loads of great tips which we have been putting into practice and have been working brilliantly. Highly recommended

Si came to us to show us how to tackle a few minor issues with our two 'kids'. Si was very professional and encouraging. So patient and we (and the kids) felt very comfortable in his company . Si had a wonderful kind approach with us all!! Feeling so much happier since Si gave us all some training. We are confident that with time we will achieve the outcome we desire. Simon W from Sociable Dog responded to our request for help to get our 4+ year old, 11.5 Stone Newfoundland dog to climb the steps into the back of our 4x4 vehicle; something he had been able to do in the past but suddenly decided not to causing us great inconvenience. Simon was quickly able to identify the problem as a behaviour issue and not one of fear or health. Within a very short period of time he had the dog racing up and down the steps with great enthusiasm. We were seriously impressed, and recognised Simon as a real expert in the management of dog behaviour and thoroughly recommended him to anyone who is looking for help with their dog. Thank you. Bruno had a few behaviours that we were struggling with, so we sought help from Simon. From talking to him on the phone, I knew I had done the right thing, Simon filled me with confidence that Bruno's behaviour wasn't as big a challenge as I feared. Straight away he gave me some pointers and then spent three hours with myself my partner and Bruno, talking us through ways to challenge his over excited behaviour. He was fantastic, Bruno was very sad to see him go and we were keen to implement some of these techniques. I would highly recommend sociable dog, in fact I already have and will continue to do so, excellent!! More...

100% recommended! My little darling has some issues, but Simon has so much patience and is calm and extremely knowledgeable. Both myself and my Jazz had complete trust in him from the off, and Simon has proved his methods work - and they are kind, positive methods. Jazzy is soooo much calmer I have so much more understanding and confidence in how to continue in her outstanding progress . I have worked with Si at sociable dog for quite sometime now and I must say I’m very impressed.
The love of dogs that Si has is plain to see and this comes through in his training .
Training methods are explained in an easily understable way,and always have a back ground explanation as to why they work and what you can expect to gain from them.
