What’s your interior design process?
Every job is unique and as such, so is the design process. However, a 'usual' job that requires some space planning and decor would include the following:
Step 1: Initial meeting from which a brief and cost estimate will be prepared. Initial meeting fee is waived if SMB is then appointed following submission of the proposal.
Step 2: Space plan, colour visuals, lighting plans are prepared
Step 3 : Initial sourcing of furniture, furnishings, colours etc and preparation of a concept / mood board to illustrate the recommended scheme
Step 4 : Briefs prepared for all contractors, initial estimates obtained, materials spec & costs estimate prepared
Step 5 : Works schedule prepared and all estimates finalised
Step 6: All materials, fabrics, furnishings, light fittings etc sourced and supplied for installation
Step 7: Project management - overseeing installation
Which interior design styles can you cater for?
Rather than focusing on any particular style or current trends, I work with clients to understand their own specific aesthetic and practical requirements and create tailored interior design solutions to meet those needs. I handle commercial and residential interiors, from ultra contemporary minimalist designs through to traditional period properties.
What do you love most about your job?
Meeting design challenges and seeing happy clients at the end of a job.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Love design... love all types of property... love furniture... love soft furnishings. Would have moved house every year if I didn't start my own business way back when.. and family weren't so keen on that idea.
