ShutterStyle was created in Newcastle fifteen years ago by two carpenters. They wanted to use their skills and knowledge to provide affordable plantation shutters for homes and businesses throughout Newcastle and the North East and they wanted to do it with a down-to-earth approach.

Had two sets of shutters installed today by ShutterStyle. Really delighted with the finished product! Keith came around on two occasions to talk through the different options available and help us choose our specification/colour of shutter. The fitter today was polite, tidy and hard-working meaning both of the shutters were installed on the same day. We found ShutterStyle to be one of the best value quotes out there, and our new shutters are infinitely better than the old tired blinds that they replaced. What do you love most about your job?
Even after all these years, it's the job satisfaction.
I am still humbled with the trust and belief that customers place in myself and the company to produce and install the shutters to meet with their expectations. Whether the order is large or small, we have been entrusted with our clients' money to deliver exactly what we say we are going to do. We have a responsibility and our role then is to strive to make that job even better than they had imagined.
The extra mile comes as standard.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have always been interested in carpentry and with my partner Robin, we turned a hobby into a commercial business, opening our first factory in 2002. I think at that point, we had both invested many years in industry and were of an age where we had to raise the bar, use our experience and drive and go on a journey to discover ourselves.
From day one the focus was always on the customer and the product and I'm proud to say that many of our customers ended up as friends.
Why should our clients choose you?
ShutterStyle has been established some fifteen years and in that time, we have earned our industry reputation. Unlike some, ours is not an 'off the shelf' shutter business!
The approach is very much down to earth, with prices fair and certainly competitive and we won't promise something we can't deliver (when we do deliver we always try to exceed the customer expectations!).
Combined with the carpentry experience and the thousands of shutter sets we have installed, I honestly don't think there is a better qualified company who can beat our standard of installation and finishing.
