What do you love most about your job?
Supporting clients to move forward in their lives is something which is rewarding and enriching for me as the counsellor.
I qualified as a counsellor as a mature student when seeking a career change in my 40's. This has enabled me to use my own personal life experiences to offer greater empathy to clients and be a true non judgemental therapist.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Post qualification I have worked with clients of all ages over a ranges of issues within charities as an employed counsellor, with CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) and also as a volunteer for CRUSE bereavement counselling.
I have private clients alongside my employed role, and enjoy the balance of participating in group work and the advantages of the continued professional development that come with my employed status, plus the independence and variety of my role in private practice. I feel that this offers benefits to my clients too as it means I am up to date with current practice, and can signpost clients to additional services too.
Why should our clients choose you?
As an approachable counsellor whom specialises in person centred counselling, I offer a discreet service, and put client needs first.
Initially I meet with new clients to share information and see if we are mutually suited to the client:counsellor relationship.
In person centred counselling this is really important, as we need to trust each other which allows us to work together effectively (getting the right counsellor for you is more important than gaining a client for me).
Then we will look to work together for 6 sessions, review, and decide on how we move forward. I do not restrict my therapy to 6 week packages as some counsellors do, but prefer to work to your needs, and we decide together what is best for you, and my services are always available to be picked up again if things get tough again any time in the future.
My charges start at
1 to 1 Counselling: £40 per session daytime and £50 per session after 6pm
Couples Counselling: £50 per session daytime and £60 per session after 6pm
Family Counselling: £50 per session daytime and £60 per session after 6pm

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Face to Face clients are seen with a min. of 1 hour between sessions with windows left open to air the room
Masks are worn until seated 2m+ apart in the counselling room, and are replaced immediately after the session
Hand gel on arrival and departure, and available for additional use.
Counsellor opens all doors for clients and cleans all surfaces between clients, including spraying soft furnishings.
