What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
listening to what the client really wants. Sometimes it's not even what they say they want. Listening and using some creativity to provide the look, the emotion that will put the smile on the clients face.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I always like to know what the end use of the photograph is. Are we capturing a once in a lifetime event, the emotions pageantry of a wedding perhaps. Or the details and beauty of the house your selling. Who the real viewer is going to be. So the shoot can be tailored to provide the optimal output, the photos that speak to the right person.
What do you love most about your job?
I love hearing that a client likes the end photos. Nothing matters more than the clients happiness.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I've always loved photography and have had the opportunity to work for a couple great national studios. Working for myself allows me the freedom to do what I enjoy on my terms. Allowing me to take more time on projects that need and and not have to rush through to meet someone else's arbitrary cookie cutter and high volume low creativity sets. Having my own business allows me the flexibility to make sure the customer is always happy and will come back time and again.
