Dear Costas Tsivicos Thank you for your feedback. I was sorry to hear that the item you have given to your fiancée has become damaged, I understand it is very upsetting. The difficulty is that, having examined the ring, it has received considerable damage, and is bent significantly out of shape. While our lifetime warranty covers manufacturing faults and defects it does not cover damage, and in this circumstance we would recommend contacting your insurance company. I understand you don't agree the ring has been damaged. We have offered to arrange, at our cost, an independent inspection by the National Association of Jewellers to give an independent, expert, third party viewpoint. We would always abide by their non-partisan judgement. We await to hear the outcome from them, which we will fully abide by. Should you wish to discuss the matter in more detail, please do contact me directly. Claire Searancke, Director. <EDIT 21/03/19> A fully independent review of the ring states the following "The ring mount is an industry standard, well manufactured two-piece cast component ring with a gross weight of approximately 4.20 grams, hallmarked platinum 950, Assay Office mark Birmingham, the sponsor mark “SJ” contained within a shield. The ring conforms to the UK Hallmarking Act of 1973 that came into force on 01-January-1975. The ring has evidence of extremely heavy customer wear over a very short period. The ring has evidence of heavy percussion marks all around the ring, and in particular around the collet setting area. When the tulip shape collet is examined from the back, there’s evidence that the collet has been accidentally caught with a hard object between the finger and the base of the collet, there are heavy percussion marks all around the collet."

Im 2015 I had bought a diamond engagement and wedding rings for my wife as well as my band in white gold. I must say that the quality of the workmanship was impressive, the hearts and arrows cut is amazing with clarity and sparkle capturing the light perfectly. They talked me through the different ring styles & types of diamonds via telephone and email. I ordered an engagement ring through Samara James in the last week of November 2010. I knew roughly what i wanted however after a lengthy phone call with Samara James, i knew exactly what i wanted. Quality:With not living anywhere remotely close to Samara James and only finding them for the first time through a google search, quality was at the front of my mind and weather or not Samara James would be able to delivery a good quality ring. As the engagement ring was a surprise (and I wasn't sure if she would like my choice) I found the money back guarantee real peace of mind. (Thankfully she did like it!) My wife, Julie, and I had searched for several months for an engagement ring which was to both our tastes; hers - that it looks impressive without being overtly obtrusive and making her feel good to be wearing a unique item; mine - value for money (though not 'cheap') and with a decent quality. We were very fortunate to be completely satisfied (and more) in all areas.Though no expert regarding diamonds, I was aware of the 5 C's of diamonds and wanted to ensure that what we spent was more on these aspects than contributing towards the glitzy advertisement and overheads of many high street jewellers. We were fortunate enough to have a one-on-one discussion with Julian, who was extremely informed about all aspects of the diamond trade - certainly my knowledge was expanded by him, and he had no problems or hesitations in answering any questions from either of us (even silly ones!). The whole chat on the premises lasted about 90 mins. Throughout, neither of us felt rushed or pressurised into making any decision; Julian acted more as a facilitator, more than happy to make relevant suggestions and ensure we got the right item which was greatly appreciated - in the end we actually settled on a slightly less expensive gem as the cut was better, so there was no intent to simply sell us the most expensive thing we could afford. Additionally, being on-site was a pleasant part of the whole process - it was impressive and reassuring to be able to see real examples of other rings and realise that the business is well-staffed, geared and motivated towards producing good quality. We eventually decided on a bespoke platinum ring design which only contributed to wards the feeling of uniqueness, with a gem of more than acceptable quality (size, colour, carat, etc); certainly in terms of price there was no comparison from any of the high street jewellers we initially tried.Throughout the entire process we were kept well informed, with initial CAD designs of the ring made available quite quickly. The ring was completed two days before the agreed date, which was a bonus, in time for a Christmas proposal.As such, we have absolutely no hesitations in giving such a high level of review to Samara James. The interaction with their staff was good throughout, the workmanship has proven to be of a very high standard and, more importantly, my wife was extremely happy to receive her engagement ring.I certainly have no reservations, based on our experiences, I can thoroughly recommended Samara James.Many thanks.Chris and Julie. The whole Samara James experience felt very personal and friendly. The website is very informative for all queries and their section on diamond information is well worth a read for those who are not so clued up on the differences in a diamond's properties, like myself! I booked an appointment at their showroom in Shepperton Marina and was able to choose every detail about the engagement ring I wanted to purchase - from the style of band to the specific diamond I wanted.
