Where to even start. Russell, came to my dad's house to help us remove his old furniture and decorate his house. My dad was in hospital at the time and had to learn to walk again this took 4 weeks.
Russell came across as a lovely and helpful person, he couldn't do enough for us.
Work started on the 20th October 2020 my sister and I were very pleased with the removals side of things the decorating side well that's a whole different story.
First he hired one of his sub-contractors to come and have a look at what needed doing, she tried to get more money from us and broke the agreement with his company. I then asked him if he knew anyone else he said yes. He took it upon himself to do the work himself. Little did I know he isn't a professional painter and decorator even though on his bark site it says they are.
He started getting sloppy and lazy, not coming when he said he would with no phone call, he would leave my sick dad waiting for him my sister and I work and go to college we couldn't be there all the time. He put curtain rails and a TV bracket up for him and told him to add it to his ever increasing bill of £750.
I started noticing paint all around my dad's floor, furniture and my sisters leather coat he hadn't put any protective sheets down, he left the wet wallpaper up on the wall without cutting it for days in the end it stuck to the paint work and when he took it off he took the paint with it. He left all his equipment in the middle of my dads living room floor since November and finally sent one of his co-workers to get it on the 24 January 2021
A family member, who is male, came to visit my dad around the end of Nov-Dec and asked him how he intended to get the paint off he pointed out all the flaws in his work and asked how he intended to fix it. Russell got very angry and called me he then proceeded to tell me he was going to 'knock' him out very professional I must say. I have all the recordings and pictures of all our conversations so there's no denying what he's done. Sadly he even speaks to his co-workers like crap, even in front of customers. He had three University students helping him at my dad's they lasted for a day and left because of him, that should have rang bells with me then.
He has left my sick dad's house in an appalling state he now has to pay someone to not only finish the work he should have done but to remove all the 'work' he's made a complete mess of even the spare room paint work is peeling off. He stopped answering my texts and phone calls, he only answered me when I called him from a withheld number and he had the audacity to ask me for his money. We didn't pay him my dad offered him £100 for his out of pocket expenses then he had to gall to tell his co-worker to give my dad back his money he wants him to remove the curtain rails and brackets off the wall as they're his. After everything he's done how he had the cheek. I got really angry with him and told him to come and get them now as I don't want him there when I'm not there he started swearing at me luckily enough I have recordings of that too.
We now have a PROFESSIONAL who is going to put his house back to where it was then transform it into what this hardworking, sick, elderly gentleman deserve a home worth living in.
For god sake PLEASE, PLEASE DON'T hire this cowboy he doesn't care about you only the money as he's clearly proved. How he can call himself a business owner is beyond me. Hopefully, he will learn from this and become the man he was when we first met him. More...
