Main course was lovely and very tasty and a lovely atmosphere, but I was extremely disappointed with my starter. I had grilled watermelon, the size of the portion was less then a child's size and I had already stated I had a dairy allergy and it arrived with mozzarella over the top which it didn't say on the menu that it came with that. So a little disappointed.

Superb meal, best I have had for a while. Lemon sole was cooked to perfection and the hollandaise sauce was delicious. Must say my husband had the guinea fowl which was also superb. My absolute favourite restaurant ever! Took my mum for an early mother's day treat. Staff welcoming and friendly and the food is amazing! My mum had the stone bass, she said it was the best she's ever had. I had the lamb, cooked to perfection as always. If you haven't been here yet, you're missing out on a real gem. I have eaten here regularly over the years and never been disappointed. The food and the service is always fantastic. Last night however the team at rick salt came to our rescue. It was my 50th birthday and my family had booked a meal at a new restaurant on Ebrington st!! When we arrived at Ebrington st at 7.30pm as arranged, the restaurant was closed. You can imagine the panic as we had all travelled from Cornwall for my special day. Despite being busy the lovely ladies at rock salt took us in with no prior notice and made up a table for 7 of us. Had a really lovely evening last night with a small group of friends.
We were given a very warm welcome the moment we arrived.
It took us a little while to decide on our various meals as there was so much choice on the menu catering for all tastes.
I opted for the harissa barbecued aubergine, feta, chilli, & crispy kale which was absolutely delicious.
We all enjoyed our evening, thank you for looking after us so well.
We will certainly be back again. !!

The go to restaurant for guaranteed great tasting and superbly cooked food that will impress and partner, client or group. The menu hasn't really changed in the years I've been going which is a shame because the taste sensation is amazing. This will not however stop me from eating here. It just means I don't go very often, special occasions only. Every veg, herb and spice compliments each other perfectly. The deserts are so light that even if you think you can eat no more there will be room, I promise! This is one of the best restaurants in Plymouth. Highly recommend! More...
