As well as being a brilliant musician who can play absolutely every style of guitar, be it classical, acoustic or electric, he is also a fabulous teacher who brings out the best in all ages. He taught both my children from scratch when they were young,. That re-kindled my interest so now he teaches me in my 60s. Cannot recommend him highly enough. More...

My son has started guitar lessons, so it is him writing this review as I have not actually met Robert. Frankie, my son, speaks highly of Robert and says he is very nice. He is able to play quite a few tunes so he must be a good teacher also, as when he started in September he had never picked up a guitar! From my perspective Robert communicates well which is something I really value. Would definitely recommend. More...

Robert has been very professional in every aspect of teaching guitar. He has been inspirational to my daughter by his obvious passion for the guitar and she progressed well under his tuition.

My son had had lessons with Robert for a number of years and had progressed brilliantly. Robert adjusts his style for the pupil, explains things really well and is flexible in his approach rather than just “chasing grades”. My son is motivated to practice and process. More...

My son started playing guitar 10 months ago and has made really good progress. Robert has taken him through the basics step by step, always being really clear and patient. Having learnt music notation and the notes on the fretboard, he’s now progressed to AC/DC, and is really enjoying it. Thanks Robert More...

Rob's lessons are well structured, covering both practical and theoretical elements of musicianship, meaning that a well rounded learning experience and accumulation of instrument knowledge are gained. I've been surprised at how much progression can be made in a relatively short period of time but also feel reassured that its based on solid techniques. His explanations are very clear. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone wanting to learn methodically and with solid grounding in the instrument. More...

My daughter has lessons with Robert and she has made excellent progress over nearly 4 years. He teaches a variety of genres, always with great patience and enthusiasm. She has enjoyed being able to move from piece to piece without any pressure to take exams. Robert has also been very helpful in providing advice when purchasing new guitars. I would not hesitate to recommend him. More...

I would definitely recommend learning to play guitar at Westside Guitar Studio. The teacher is truly inspiring and has helped me to progress quickly with learning to read music and play the guitar. Through Westside I've been introduced to a range of different guitar styles including blues, jazz, rock and classical. I now really love playing the guitar and having weekly lessons has kept my interest alive and helped me to learn properly and quickly. More...

My son has gained so very much from his lessons. He's been challenged and and encourages in equal measure. As a result I'm extremely proud of his musicianship and range, and feel sure he will carry all that Rob has taught him for the rest of his days.

Having tried to learn guitar with a previous tutor I was dispirited with my development and guitar playing experience.Following a friend's recommendation I contacted Robert and have been inspired within justt a couple of lessons. He immediately understood where I wanted to reach and pointed me to challenging but achievable exercises in a style of music I can identify with. He convinced me to try learning to read music which has also proved demanding but enjoyable. At 67 new skills and learning retention are ever more demanding which makes Roberts teaching ability all the more commendable.Thank you Robert. A wide range of styles taught by an expert.I had classical lessons but you should hear his electric lead guitar playing. Astounding!Highly professional, giving great advice on practise methods, technique and a brilliant insight into music.I had lessons for eight years and only stopped to go away to university. The lessons were fun and I learned more in one session than any number of YouTube videos! My guitar lesson was the highlight of my week. More...

Rob is an excellent guitar teacher and through him I have developed my knowledge and techniques slowly but soundly over the last 2 years. Rob adapts to the student's interests and at the same time introduces new material and challenges, showing a great breadth of knowledge across the musical spectrum. I took early retirement 2 years ago and I have not looked back on my decision to play the guitar. This is wholly due to Rob's encouragement and capacity as a teacher, to bringing out the best in the individual. Krys More...

FOR PEOPLE WHO PREFER A LESS FORMAL APPROACH
