What do you love most about your job?
I love making brides and their bridal party feel beautiful and confident. Whether it be through getting them ready with their hair and/or make up, or by capturing treasured memories photographically. They all give tremendous job satisfaction!
What inspired you to start your own business?
As the old saying goes 'if you want something doing properly, do it yourself!'. In all honestly I love the freedom and independance of being self employed. It has become a lot more demanding since opening up my own beauty salon and having other professionals working there with me- having more people's appointments to manage than just my own etc. But ultimately I call the shots, I always go the extra mile because it's my name on the line, and I'm doing it because I want to and not because someone else is telling me to. I'm not entirely sure what inspired me, I just always knew I wanted my own business, my own salon, and I'm so pleased with the reputation I've built in doing so.
Why should our clients choose you?
You only have to have a look through my client feedback to feel reassured that I'm the one to go with (another place to find recent reviews is on my Facebook page). Unlike when I first started, there's so much competition between all sorts of different wedding service providers now. However I still end up being booked for the majority of weekends throughout the year. I used to find it was more of a spring/summer business, but now I'm experiencing high volumes in all seasons and mid week dates as well as weekends- good job I love weddings! I originally traded under the name of RjG Beauty and Photography, and still do but I also go by the salon name of 'Sitting Pretty'. I'm well established and highly experienced... I wish I had kept a tally of all the weddings I've done over the years! I have been told time and time again that I have a calming impact on helping the day run smoothly as it should, and a laid back approach that clients feel comfortable with. I'll admit I may be a bit batty at times perhaps, but that just helps with creating a few giggles!
