We worked with ReTouch to convert our attic space into two bedrooms and a bathroom, and we had such a great experience! We are so pleased with the final product, and the process of working with them was what really made it. Recently completed a renovation with Retouch. The design team, specifically Angela and Irene were amazing to work with! The floor plan Angela came up with was fantastic- and something we hadn’t even dreamed of. Irene understood exactly what I wanted design-wise, even when I couldn’t always articulate it. There were some bumps along the way during the process once construction started- but nothing out of the ordinary. The project was completed close to the date we were given initially. A couple weeks over, but there were some issues with materials that contributed to that. Overall, we’re so happy with the finished project and love our new spaces! More...

This project was a rollercoaster ride. Our project was to remodel 1.5 existing baths, and add an additional bathroom into our main bedroom. The work looks great and it was completed to our expectations. That said, getting this project done was so much harder than it needed to be. Multiple times there were miscommunications within retouch and more than once retouch requested us to pay a change order because of their mistake/miscommunication. With each scenario we were able to come to a compromise, which I appreciate. However, most of the miscommunications could have been avoided with better organization and communication on their side. Some examples of what we ran into are below: -We requested specific scope items that were not documented and were nearly missed -We were told we were getting a specific vanity, which we loved. However, the vanity was WAY too large for the space. We ended up having to cut the vanity into pieces and only installing portions of it. Not sure why this wasn’t measured beforehand. -We had to select tile, countertops, and grout multiple times. The first time we had to rechoose things was because we were told the wrong price for the items and selected something out of budget. The next time was because the vanities were ordered in the wrong color and had to adjust the rest of the room to accommodate. -The initial estimate had multiple missing scope items causing sticker shock when we got the contract price -Prior to signing the contract we were told there was a plumbing buffer and if it wasn’t utilized that expense would be removed from the contract. Once plumbing was done we were told there weren’t any hiccups, but there was a denial of there ever being a buffer. At that point the story changed to “allowance” versus buffer and we were told it was all used…We have learned an important lesson about buffers and allowances. -We were not told our move home date had been delayed a full month. We had to push to get that information from retouch putting our family in a tough position with securing housing, and we incurred additional unplanned expenses. In the end we are happy with what we have, but the experience with them has tarnished the project and perspective of working with them again. If you choose to work with them I recommend you take LOTS of notes, write down all products you select, verify the prices, ask lots of questions, and make sure you have a good relationship with the owner. We worked with ReTouch on a large scale renovation to our 1940s home over the course of 9 months in 2021/2022. There were many elements outside of their control (COVID delays, incorrect orders on big-ticket items) that drastically delayed our project. Retouch remodeled our original 1994 kitchen and fireplace in the attached family room. For kitchen we changed the layout to accommodate a much bigger island with a custom cabinet base and an attached table-height section for eating, all topped with awesome quartz. New ceiling height cabinets give a sense of height and space while adding storage. One of my favorite features is my tile backsplash extending to the ceiling around a beautiful corner sink and faucet. In the family room they designed a stunning stacked-marble fireplace surround with a custom wood mantel and a marble hearth that perfectly compliments the kitchen. Retouch was awesome to work with, from the designers, construction/build managers, to the installers they are professionals. During construction, they kept me informed on status of all aspects of the job, the work was done in a timely manner (considering supply chain issues) and within my budget :) They have great design sense and really helped me create a kitchen-family room that I love to be in and work in everyday. I will start this review by saying everyone I have dealt with at Retouch has been extremely pleasant to work with. However, the lack of commination and planning from Lance was unprofessional at best. There was no clear definition of a timeline, workers would show without warning and then we wouldn't see them again for weeks. I was then contacted by my city saying that although permits were pulled for the job in question, the appropriate inspections were not scheduled and we now need to retroactively address that. Maybe my job just got lost in the shuffle, but I am shocked to see the reviews about timeliness and planning. More...

Winter '18/'19: My wife and I hired ReTouch for our first-ever renovation project, referred by our realtor & wife's parents. Short version: We 100% received what we paid for, going in with a vague 'please make this better' request and coming out with a basement we love. 5/5, WILL use again.Longer version:On the preliminary work: We only knew that we wanted to add a bathroom and seal off the basement proper from the furnace room. Erik and Bethany walked us through a plethora of design options - they were very patient with us and re-worked a final layout that was a combination of two of their suggestions (this layout/design was probably the single most valuable output from our project - Bethany is AWESOME). On the project itself: We didn't have the budget for everything in the layout. Erik worked with us to cut work out that we were comfortable doing ourselves (floors, doors, trim, paint, etc.) until we got down to our price range. They clearly seemed unaccustomed to this - but very accommodating. When Jared took over for the project proper - everything went perfectly (they even fixed issues that arose with our existing plumbing, though they had no obligation to do so). ReTouch did our elevator shaft and the finishing of its floor, kitchen, hearth room, mud room/butler’s pantry, parlor, dining room, main floor ½ bath, master bedroom, master bathroom, master martini deck, basement with full bathroom, workout room, kitchen/bar and mantles on 3 fireplaces. Outside ReTouch renovated the screened in porch, removed and rebuilt a new deck, renovated the walk out patio and gave our home a major transformation with a curb appeal that has me overwhelmed is the best way. Most of the areas mentioned were gutted to be updated, designed and function as we requested. The design team really listened to our requests and quickly learned what we liked, but still kept us informed every step of this journey. ReTouch was in our house for about 9 months before we did a final walk through. There were unforeseen obstacles that delayed some aspects of the renovation, but knowing that when the work was finished we would be in a home that was more beautiful and more functional beyond any we could ever have imagined helped us remain patient. Our ReTouch team was thoughtful, respectful and well-intentioned throughout this transformation. ReTouch’s rates are reasonable and they did not push any services on us that we did not need. Everyone on the ReTouch team was honest and trustworthy. We had friends and family who experienced the “before” of our house. Now they see the “after” is our home that truly reflects our family.
