We just had our wedding at Sopley Mill last weekend. Wayne and his team at Red Cherry were amazing! We required a full vegan menu for our wedding, this was no problem for Wayne, who developed a complete new menu for us. The food was superb, there was LOTS of it and a wide variety of dishes. Red Cherry catered for my wedding a few weeks ago a Sopley Mill! (29th October)They were fantastic from day one and so helpful regarding our many dietary requirements. They went out of their way to ensure that all my guests had delicious food and were very flexible with everything.We chose the canapes, BBQ and dessert menu.I only got to eat 2 canapes (long photos) a prawn skewer and vegan tart with hummus ( which they also made gluten free on request). Both were delicious and the other pork belly canape apparently went down very well!All the salads were amazing and everyone raved about the bbq pork and Peri chicken. My mum loved her pescatarian option and many guests said it was the best food they had ever eaten at a wedding. My gluten and milk free chocolate brownie ( told you we were awkward) was honestly the best I have ever eaten and the trio puddings for everyone went down wonderfully too.Service was incredible. They were so lovely and friendly and delivered everything which such ease. If there was an issue with anything - I wasn't aware of it.It was probably the part of the day I was most nervous about but as soon as I tasted the food I felt so relieved. They honestly went above my expectations and it felt so wonderful for me to be able to eat 'normal' food with all my family.We also ordered evening food with them (burger bar - which was delicious and had a great and plentiful variety of sides and accompaniments). We ordered more than they recommended purely because I hated the idea of anyone going hungry. We did have some left over as some day guests didn't stay into the evening but it just meant some people got seconds! I booked Red Cherry Catering in June 2019 for my wedding in August 2020. I found their customer service to be appalling.
I sent them a deposit to secure the date and two weeks went by without me receiving confirmation. I then had to email to check it had been received to which they replied they had got it. In those few months I only had one question regarding food for my wedding day and I asked this in June, with a follow up prompt email. Come to the end of September and I still do not have a reply to this.
Due to the lack of communication I had lost confidence in their service. I felt as though if they could not reply to a question now within a reasonable amount of time, how would they manage to nearer my wedding day when everything will be much busier? I then informed them, via email, that I wished to cancel and requested a refund of my deposit. I was told the unanswered emails were an oversight and they thought they had been answered (but I still did not receive the answer at this point) and that if I wanted to cancel, they would regretfully refund my deposit. I confirmed that I wanted to cancel and two days later they replied saying the deposit was non-refundable. This email also detailed that as they were still happy to cater for my wedding day and it was my decision to cancel, I couldn’t have my deposit refunded. In reality, I had cancelled their service due to their sub-standard customer service.
From here on their customer service has only become worse. I emailed detailing the facts of the situation (dates and emails sent) which is when I got a reply from Wayne, the managing director and head chef. He offered his sincerest apologies, said he was unaware of the situation and requested to call me the next day. I happily accepted and passed on my number, but Monday came and went with no call. I then emailed AGAIN stating that this lack of communication was the main reason why I had cancelled, and could they refund my money. I never received a reply and so I called them the following day, and twice the day after that. Each time Wayne was not in and they passed on my message. I called them again this morning and unsurprisingly Wayne was not there. I was informed that he had been receiving my messages, but I have yet to get a response from him.
Initially I was excited about working with them to create something different for one of the biggest days of my life – the reviews online at the time spoke very highly of them and I was told they were really adaptable with their menus. It now appears to me that they do not have time for their customers. They said that they rely on wedding catering, but from their lack of communication this is hard to believe.
If you value customer service and your own time, then I would highly recommend finding different caterers. I have still had no contact from Wayne and so I feel no option but to write this review to prevent it happening to other couples.

Wayne and the team catered for our work's Christmas party last month. Prior to our party Wayne came in for a chat to find out exactly what we were looking for in terms of theme and dietary requirements. On the night of our party, Red Cherry kindly made 2 trips to our office, one to deliver canapes early on and then one to deliver the main meals. The food was outstanding and the portion sizes were very generous. We will definitely recommend Red Cherry to anyone who is looking for a caterer in the Bournemouth area! We had Wayne and his team cater for our wedding yesterday at Sopley Mill.
It was amazing! I asked around to all of my guests how the food and service was and there was not one single complaint to be heard!
Everybody had said just how great the food was!
The canapés were tasty, the hog roast was fab but most importantly the dessert was the best thing I've ever had! Especially the brownie! I love all things brownie and I must say that Red Cherry I think have THE best brownie I have ever had.
Wayne, I'll need that brownie recipe ASAP!!
Thank you so so much again for yesterday.

We chose Red Cherry for our October wedding after they were recommended to us by our wedding venue, Sopley Mill, as David thought that Wayne and the team would provide the kind of informal, delicious style of catering we were after, and we are so pleased we went with them! Wayne is a brilliant chef and front man to the business friendly, professional, knowledgeable and above all, passionate about food. He understood our brief and provided a delicious vintage afternoon tea as our wedding breakfast after our 3pm ceremony and then a delicious Gourmet burger bar in the evening. Red Cherry catered our wedding on May 21st, 2017 at Sopley Mill, the service was absolutely fantastic! They were really flexible with the menu and accommodated our last minute guest number change without question.
The guests loved the food - as did we (the sharing platter starters were a big hit)! Unfortunately, a tightly laced wedding dress doesn't leave much room for pasta :(
I can only describe the team as magical fairies who bought a host of amazing tasting food served with a smile. I honestly didn't even see or hear them set up!

We got married at sopley mill on 26th October 2017 and made a choice to use red cherry catering... we are so glad we did! The food was amazing and every single guest commented on it for both the wedding breakfast and the evening food . Nobody went hungry and even the pickiest of eaters were happy! Wayne and his wonderful staff catered for our wedding at Sopley Mill in September 2014. From the beginning Wayne was great to deal with, helping us to create exactly what we wanted and offering lots of great ideas. It was clear from the start that he knew what he was doing and really wanted our day to be perfect!On the day they were there early and worked with us to prepare the dinning tables and make sure everything was as it should be. His service included serving reception drinks, which they executed very well, ensuring that everyone's glass was kept topped up! Very important! The quality and presentation of the food was excellent and it was served to the tables very professionally, not an easy task when catering for large numbers. Later on in the evening they prepared a fantastic cheese & meats buffet which was all managed perfectly well by his staff and allowed us to enjoy our special day. Then by the end of the evening they had cleared everything away and left the venue as they had found it.They were happy to liaise with the venue, bar operator and other third parties, which was a great help in taking pressure off of us.I would recommend Red Cherry 100% to anyone. It is a big leap of faith employing someone to cater for such an important event and I can honestly say that not for one minute were we disappointed or concerned with anything that they did for us...
