Great, friendly place to stay!||Accommodations clean, roomy, comfortable and had everything we needed. I had done research and wanted a place that had a kitchen since we don't like to eat out for every meal. The Red Agave had amazing rooms and so much more! We stayed in a studio, plenty of room for two people and all our bike gear. There is a full kitchen (with the caveat of no oven- the only thing I would have changed!!). The resort faces the national forest with nothing blocking the beautiful view. The Slim Shady trail leaves right from the resort grounds. If that is too hard, the Bell Rock trails are across the street, only a 1/4 mile away. There are hot tubs and a pool, corn hole, and a fire pit. We also found Trish to be especially friendly and helpful and let us wash a couple loads of laundry during our week stay, so great! Every staff member we encountered was wonderful and made our stay so much nicer. We really loved our week here and would be happy to come back and stay again!! More...

Very recently had my wedding here. Our families and I stayed on the resort. The staff was very helpful and accommodating in really all aspects. Very straight forward and didn't feel like they were trying to upsell us on anything. Very friendly. ||The view is great, and the trail nearby was used for part of our photoshoot and the concrete platform was a nice place for family photos. Everyone we invited had a great time. The prices are especially great considering the high price of Sedona.||Highly recommend. More...

The Red Agave was a fabulous stay. Walk out from the property onto beautiful trails with your morning coffee or for a hike to Bell rock vortex. My husband and I stayed a couple nights at the Red Agave Resort and could not be happier with our decision. We were looking for relaxation and immersion in the beautiful red rocks of Sedona, and I'm not sure there's a better place than Red Agave if those are your goals. ||||First, all the rooms, ALL OF THEM, look out on Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte - practically an unobstructed view. On top of that, every room has been updated. We were in a studio with a very comfortable king bed and a kitchen completely outfitted with dishes, cooking utensils, pots and pans, and silverware. As if the price per night wasn't great, you can also save a ton by bringing your own food! ||||Also, the resort is relatively small - only about 12 rooms or so - so it feels very private and quiet at night - amazing stargazing. The zero-entry pool (meaning no stairs, just a ramp into the pool) is lovely and and refreshing, and there are TWO hot tub/spas in case there are a few people who want to sit in them, though we saw almost no people in the pools or hot tubs while we were there. Both the pool and the spas have views of the red rocks as well. Finally, there's firepit in the courtyard that is lit every night at dusk until around 10pm, and if you're up for it, the resort provides fixings for smores for FREE; just claim your bag of marshmallow, graham crackers, and chocolate at the front desk along with a roasting fork.||||The only thing I can think of that people might see as a downside is that the resort isn't technically IN Sedona; it's actually about 10 minutes outside of town. However, I actually see it as a pro because it's less crowded, more affordable, and you're still totally immersed in the red rocks. Also, the road you need to drive along to get to Sedona? Well it's the famous Red Rock Scenic Byway into Sedona, so every time you need to drive into town, you get to drive that GORGEOUS stretch of road. Not a hardship :)||||Highly recommend this place - I know I'll be back and recommending it to everyone I know. More...

Having 35 guests, we were able to rent out the entire resort for the duration of our stay, which was perfect. Accommodations: The property is absolutely lovely. We loved the vintage charm of the chalets with the beautiful courtyard and STUNNING views. The rooms were clean and comfortable with nice amenities. The pool, fire pit and hot tubs were an added bonus for sure! We were able to grill together, eat and drink in the courtyard and all be collectively together easily. Every morning the property looked freshly maintained, even with our group festivities.Wedding Venue:We worked with the manager, Trish, on logistics for wedding day preparation and she was wonderful and super easy to work with. She was even more lovely in person and was so welcoming and kind. Truly, all the staff that we encountered was great. We loved having the flexibility to choose any wedding vendor we wanted and felt that was a huge advantage for our special day. Naturally, our wedding was outdoors and the weather was perfect. I don't believe you can find a better backdrop for a wedding in Sedona. Everywhere you look is simply breath taking. It was so nice to have our first looks and photography just steps away off of the trailhead, we never had to leave the property for our wedding and appreciated having the extra time to engage with our guests.Working with our wedding planner, Kelsey at Jane in the Woods, we were able to transform the courtyard into a bohemian desert dream. Red Agave was absolutely perfect for our wedding weekend and wedding event location. If you're looking for an intimate resort with killer views and vintage charm, I can't recommend it enough. We look forward to returning for our one year anniversary! More...

The resort grounds are immaculate and well maintained, with a pool, two hot tubs, and a communal fire pit that you can roast complimentary s'mores on every evening. The staff were friendly. You quite literally walk off the property onto a trail head! However, the experience was not perfect and here's why...This place is not cheap (of course views have a cost which is fine), so when I'm asked to take out my own garbage at the end of the stay, I find that very odd, in addition to no breakfast included. The cabin we stayed in was clean and simple but the bathroom needs a little love- an old, out of place painting (cont on the beautiful sedona landscape theme!) and a shower head in desperate need of a good CLRing or replacement. If they are going to charge as much as they do, these details need to be there. More...

Our family of four stayed in the Quail's Nest chalet for 5 nights at Red Agave. The "resort" was nicer than expected. The grounds were beautifully maintained, the chalet and common areas were clean and the views were spectacular. The Red Agave is very peaceful and a great place to relax after a full day of hiking or sight seeing. The Chalets are big enough for our family of four adults and the AC in the units kept us nice and cool. The pool, although small, is refreshing. The location of RA is perfect to use as a home base for visiting the sites around Sedona. Also, the location is close to some fantastic places to eat so you don't have to go back into downtown Sedona. Unfortunately, we never took advantage of hiking Slim Shady trail (next time), but we did take advantage of the smores. The WiFi was strong and fast. Lastly, all the employees at the resort were nice and helpful. More...

AMAZING - Hidden gem of the greater Sedona area. Away from the construction and congestion of the uptown Sedona area, but the view at Red Agave puts the uptown views to shame! If youre looking for a place to chill, Red Agave pretty much covers all the bases. From couples to families, this place really can accommodate any type of trip. They have a very family friendly pool, two jacuzzis, a killer view from the courtyard, nightly campfires (complimentary lil smores kits at the front desk), kitchenettes in each room, and did I mention you can bring your furry family members too? The very friendly and helpful employees are just the cherry on top of the whole experience. More...

What a find this is! Many family members, friends and relatives gathered here for a wedding/reception, and it was the most perfect place! The atmosphere is special with the red rocks right there in front of you and the trail head beckoning right off the patio area. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful - you can even ask for the makings of s'mores by the firepit at night! The chalet we had was clean and quite well stocked with basic kitchen items. The spiral staircase is pretty much in the middle of the room, though, and you have to be really aware at all times so you don't hit your head on it as you walk past it. The king bed was very comfy, and the a/c was welcomed. It was so nice to have the pool and hot tubs, the grills, and the large patio area. Family gathered at tables or the pool, eating, talking, and enjoying the beauty of the area (when we weren't hiking, shopping, sightseeing, etc.). There is so much to do in Sedona. First time in Sedona, to celebrate my husband's special birthday, in late March. Stayed in one of the pet-free chalets. GM, Trish, and Front Desk Concierge, Kathena created a very delightful and comfortable 2-night stay. We were greeted with a special Happy Birthday gift basket of delicious treats/drinks, and, knowing that I am very concerned of staying warm throughout the chalet, an extra heater was set up AND running upon our check-in. Excellent hospitality! Bath essentials and bedding all superior. Never need to worry about running out of towels, bathroom supplies, toiletries, etc. They can always be replenished. Parking is behind the chalet unit. The view of the mountains from the front door was breathtaking. There is an evening s'mores treat daily. Short walk to many trails, including the Bell Rock trail. We thank Kathena for an excellent restaurant recommendation the first night of arrival, one of Executive Chef and Owner Lisa Dahl's restaurants, which led to additional excellent dining experiences at two more of her dining establishments. Once we got into town and realized we were going to be checking in late I called them and Tracy was amazing on the phone. When we arrived she was even nicer in person. The place is GREAT. Extremely clean and beautiful views from everywhere. Great hiking and mt. biking right from your room. The best part of the trip was Tracy. She is amazing and because of her we will be going back. She was friendly, helpful and took time to talk to us about the area. She seemed to love her job. We were treated like family. As a world traveler who normally stays at the enchantment resort in Sedona will be staying at the red agave more often. Thanks Tracy. More...

Inside, the amenities are basic. It's clean and comfortable but small, and daily housekeeping is not included. But the connection to the outdoors is superb. I absolutely love this place! Each studio/chalet comes with a full sized fridge, microwave, kitchen, coffee maker, kitchen ware, pots, pans, etc. I love that there is a trailhead that begins right on the property (Slim Shady Trail) and that trail is perfect for hiking to Bell Rock and mountain biking. There is nice Chinese restaurant across the street and bike rental places nearby (I used Sedona Trail Zen). I love the staff, especially Tiffany! She is friendly and super helpful. Just note that this resort is located outside of the main hub of Sedona (it is located in Oak Creek Village). I love that each unit gets a view of Bell Rock--makes a great view for sunrise & sunset. In addition, there is smores at night, which I think is especially great when you have kiddos. More...

My husband and I just spent 5 nights at the Red Agave Resort and can’t wait to return. We chose to stay in one of the A-frame cabins, despite it having more space than we needed for two people because the cooking space seemed to be more comfortable than the studios, and we like to cook many of our meals even when traveling (however it seems with the recent renovations that they have added a breakfast bar for more prep space in the studios since we booked). We do not regret booking the larger space though and will probably aim for the same type of room when we return. The cottage was well-equipped for the basic vacation cooking we did (breakfasts and lunches and a couple of simple dinners). ||The king bed in the downstairs bedroom was extremely comfortable and there was a variety of pillows to choose from. If you like firm or squishy, it’s there! Lots of storage in the bedroom and bathroom, but not a lot for food storage in the kitchen if you plan on grocery shopping and cooking (it’s also lacking some BBQ and other basic cooking utensils, but we improvised and it didn’t bother us much). ||We were able to hike Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte right off the property using Slim Shady Trail and a quick jog across 179. ||The hot tubs were very welcoming after hours of intense hiking! The staff were all great, and we even got to meet the owner who was also very warm and friendly. We can’t wait to return to Sedona and will definitely be timing our trip around when we can book a room at Red Agave again! Thank you for a great first visit to Sedona, leaving us wanting more. I'm super happy that I found this place via trip advisor and yelp. I wanted to be close to the red rocks with a wonderful view and not be trapped at Best Western or one of the major hotels paying $400+ a night. The location can't be beat - it's literally next to the Bell Rock Pathway so you can get early dibs on parking or just walk there! I really enjoyed the location of this place and the beautiful views that it offered, our chalet was right next to the Slim Shady Trail which can be accessed right on the property. Also, the property is located in Oak Creek village which is far enough from the traffic of uptown Sedona but also provides the opportunity to allow for a drive on the scenic Hwy 179 (Red Rock Scenic Byway) to get to uptown or west Sedona. Our chalet was newly renovated, I saw no bugs or spiders inside, the AC was on full blast and works well (it even got kind of cold at night!). While I love the Red Agave overall, I am glad to hear they will finally be overhauling their studio rooms. I had the resort booked with my family and friends so the whole weekend was tons of fun! The staff were all so kind and responsive to email during the whole planning process. The resort was so quiet, we felt like we were in the middle of nowhere and had the beautiful red rocks all to ourselves. My wife and I have stayed at the Red Agave Resort for many years. We have brought friends and family to stay at this unique location in the Village of Oak Creek (a short drive from Sedona off Highway 179). If you want a low key, peaceful and enjoyable place to stay... the Red Agave Resort is the place for you. If you prefer the glamour of a 5 star, fancy resort in Sedona... this is not the place for you. The Red Agave Resort is not a large facility... there are a limited number of 2 story Chalets plus several 1 story Studio units. All of the units have kitchenettes with full size frig / freezer, electric stove / oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and gas grill outside. Each unit has a different variety of kitchen items so if you're a gourmet chef, you should bring your own spices, condiments, knives, cutting board, pot holder, etc. The kitchen basics are provided which should be adequate for most people. The cable TV is standard resolution (not HD) but they do offer the PAC-12 AZ Network for ASU and U of A games which no other sports bar offers. Tracy (the manager) is friendly and very helpful. We love the pool, 2 hot tubs, nightly fire (with smores) and the gorgeous views of Bell Rock and Cathedral Rock. The property is adjacent to the National Forest so hiking and biking is a few steps away. This is a PERFECT location for a wedding or other special event. We'll certainly return for another visit! We spent 4 days here, with 2 dogs. The staff was very friendly and super helpful. They were happy to see us and our dogs, which is something you don't find everywhere. The kitchenette was awesome to have and the resort is absolutely beautiful. There are trails right outside the rooms, so we could walk them with out driving anywhere. We had a wonderful time and will be back! More...

Great base for exploring the area near and around Sedona. Comfortable and reasonable. Better than some of the more expensive places in the area. Family atmosphere, BBQ available. Great parking area. In summary a nice place to stay. More...

Had my family out there for a three night stay to plan my wedding and hit the trails in between. Stayed in one of the Chalets, was well stocked with everything we needed while there. Was nice to soak in the outdoor jacuzzi and take a swim after a day of shopping. The hosts were always warm and accommodating. Having a trailhead right on the hotel grounds was the best, access to such sweet single trek right out the door without having to touch pavement. The trail systems in Sedona are amazing and the signage is at every intersection almost like street signs. My hat is off to Sedona trail builders and mountain bikers loved riding hiline, controlled falling at its best. More...

I stayed here for a week with my family and we really, really enjoyed it. We came to Sedona to hike, bike, and bird watch, so the Red Agave was the perfect place. We stayed in one of the chalets facing Castle Rock so our door was literally 30 feet from the National Forest trailhead and it hooks up with a bunch of other trails within close distance, including Bell Rock. Plus, the view was amazing!||||Other stuff... the kitchen had all the equipment we needed and the bed was comfortable and soft after a long day of hiking (request a pillow-top; it's like sleeping on a marshmallow). The resort common area with the fire bit is awesome as well and there is also a pool and TWO hot tubs, which means we didn't have to awkwardly share a tub with strangers like is often the case at other hotels.||||All that was great, but I really wanted to write this review to give a shout-out to the staff for being awesome. Tracy, the manager, was very nice and helpful with getting us set up with our stay. Cathy, the primary person we dealt with at the front desk, was just phenomenal. She was happy, enthusiastic, and she went out of her way to help us on multiple occasions. On our last evening there, the parking lot was full and she watched for when a spot close to our door opened up so we could move our car and not have to carry our bags as far the next day. She actually stood in the empty spot so nobody could take it before we got there. That is devotion to customer service.||||So yes, awesome place, close to adventure, with a really friendly staff. We will definitely stay there again. More...
