About

I don’t do the dull boring cheesy nonsense and I certainly won’t spend the entire day hiding behind a plant pot. This is not to say that I won’t engage ninja mode and capture those unrehearsed natural moments, but it means that I will be well involved when there’s fun to be had.

Just gone through the photograph's taken at Bec and Dan Barrett's Wedding at Highgate House on 28 August 2016. Wow, the photo's were superb and would like to thank Darren for capturing some lovely moments that we (Father and Mother of the Bride), and Bec and Dan, can treasure. Darren was so easy going, and from first meeting him on the wedding day, felt as though I'd known him for sometime. He made the Bride and Groom feel so relaxed, which show in the pictures. Thank-you again Darren for being a massive part of our daughter's special day. p.s. Would have no hesitation in recommending Darren to any friends/relatives who were getting married. More...

Reality Photography well what can I say about him
Well I could say he was very professional as you'd expect
Or I could say he was professional and a really nice guy
Or then again I could say he was professional and a real nice guy and that he makes everyone feel as ease while he's there catching all those special moments in the moment and that also he's like an adopted member of the family
Or I could say that he's all of the above and more you will definitely not go wrong hiring Darren he's a real nice and friendly guy and the pictures speak for themselves

Q&As

You need to be unobtrusive and dictate as little as possible, some of the best photos come from unrehearsed situations and I feel that emotional content is just as important as camera wizardry. Equally I won’t shy away from getting involved and setting a scene to get the best possible images, like groupshots; they’re a painstaking process if not orchestrated properly, so I’ll usually just ask bride and groom to assume position, draft in the biggest groomsman and get your guests in and out. No faffing, promise.

I’m not the type of photographer who’s happy with what comes out of the camera, every single photo needs some amount of attention, sometimes it’s just a few tweaks, some times it’s about creating something that’s simply not possible through a lens alone.

I'd love to know their style, most people won't be able to give a straight forward answer (it's not their job too!) but I love figuring out exactly what a client is looking and delivering their style of shoot. Customer satisfaction is number one. I'd also ask how 'camera shy' they may be and I'd always keep that in mind and make sure they're never overwhelmed

What's not to love? I get to spend the most amazing day with two people who run through every happy and nervous emotion possible in the space of 12 hours. I get to have so much fun and the job satisfaction I get from happy clients when I deliver their images to me is everything.

I found something not only that I'm good at, I find it second nature and thoroughly love every aspect, even the part that others might call 'time consuming' or 'boring.' I get to be responsible for people lasting memories, how awesome is that?!

I'm adaptable, I'm just as happy shooting a totally geeky wedding as I am shooting an utterly romantic one. To me it's all about story telling, not story writing, I want to portray what makes you guys you! Being professional and keeping to commitments is non negotiable to me, I can't stress enough how much I put my customers first. Also I take pretty damn good photos so I'm told
