I had a 90 minute flight with a guy called Paul in a little euro plane.. Very informative he is with his knowledge of northumbeland. Really enjoyed the flight and well worth a go if your looking into this kind of thing. Our route took the a697 up past Wooler and to coldstream and then along the tweed to berwick, then down the coast to druridge bay bay and across to the airfield . Circling areas of interest. all in all a very enjoyable experience and well worth a flight. More...

On the actual day myself, the staff and children were blown away with the warm welcome we received as well as the invaluable tour and experience we were offered and subsequently had as we toured the airfield. Yes I would. The difference is that the guys at the top their want to do things properly and with integrity. That's why they have my support and why I am working there. My industry is half full of individuals who don't deserve to be in it. If you want excellent training-even a good start to a professional career with the important basics being well taught from the outset, in a lovely environment with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere; tidy and well looked after aeroplanes and good theory support get along to Eshott. What an amazing experience. My partner and I took part in the “Formation Flight” taking an hour up the spectacular Northumberland coast line. Saw Alnwick and Bamburgh Castles plus Dunstanburgh Castle, brilliant coastal beaches including several seal colonies and a fly around Holy Island. These two young, but very experienced, pilots made us feel safe whilst being infinitely knowledgeable about the surrounding area. A MUST DO experience and I’ll definitely be doing it again. Visited Eshott airfield, and was impressed with the facilities. The runways are in excellent condition, as are the grass parking areas. Landing fees is more than fair, and with a reasonable uplift of fuel, this was waived anyway. Coupled with the good service from Newcastle airport, it makes it a really attractive place to visit. What I was most impressed with though were the people who run and work on the airfield. After suffering a mechanical failure they spent a number of hours trying to get the aircraft back in the air. When that was unsuccessful (components, not workmanship!) I was offered a lift to the station to get us home. A real aviation gem in the North East! More...
