I attended here for a week while visiting family. Price is good for a very well stocked gym in a large space, that suppors a variety of workouts from cardiovascular to heavy weightlifting. This drives the rating, but I removed a star for the following reason:

I found the gym etiquette by far the worst part of the experience and if I visited as my regular gym, I'd likely leave for this reason (so if i were a regular I'd give it 3 stars). Weights were left lying around, dumbells are often unpaired and scattered across different racks, making finding a pain that can disrupt workout flow. There were also people who hogged several resistance machines for a personal workout and were unwilling to share even when transitioning between leaving their towl on one. Speaking of towels, I did not see many in use one to clean sweat off afterwards. While this is the customer and not the operator, I think some education as first time induction 5 minutes overview, and some helpful signage to emphasise the gym culture / etiquette would go a long way. As would having staff take a walk around from time to time and encourage patrons to adhere. All would benefit and it would feel more like a community, see my last side point below.

I find the entry system convenient for 24 hour access, but it does feel a little impersonal. The staff are helpful if approached but do not seem to be fully engaged with the customer and generating a personality for the gym leaving it a bit sterile.

I think I go here at the perfect time, it's never busy enough to fight for equipment (I'd lose), but also not dead enough to find the large building eerie. Planning to visit the Wallasey branch when it opens as its much closer for me :) More...
