Avi is an experienced builder, and he knew what he was doing in all aspects of our jobs. His workers were all very friendly, courteous, and hard workers. His crew were talented carpenter/worker who took a lot of care in what they did, a real craftsman’s. All the work they did was done very well, and care was taken in all details of the job. WOW!

We got multiple bids from highly regarded contractors. Avi/ Green Works bid was significantly better than the competition and he also promised the work would be done in about half the time his competitors were quoting, which is a big deal when you're talking about not having vehicular access to your driveway.

His team started right on schedule and worked vigorously throughout the project and finished on the promised schedule.

Our project :
(1) Redo the entire backyard hard & soft landscape, (2) Replacing the concrete driveways & walkways with pavers (over 1500 SQ FT)
(3) Construction of two sunrooms on the second & the third floor decks
(4) Construction of a new 900 SQ FT RV port and Outdoor sink with stove
(5) Beautification of outside - New stone columns to the block wall, New front patio wall & Foam moulding for the windows throughout and last was painting .

Avi worked with me to insure the key features of the work met our standard - actually they exceeded our expectations significantly. The professionalism and craftsmanship of the team is evident in the final product and I am highly confident the work they did for us will hold up for many years ( well at least I’m hoping. Itay and Greenworks did a great job on re doing my out of date bathroom. The project came in on time and budget and their subs do really nice work. I had some cement tile that needed care and attention in cutting and Theo worked hard to cut it perfectly. They were professional and considerate of my home, taking care in covering floors and cleaning up after themselves. Last November we bought a house that was built in 1951 and still had the original kitchen and (two) bathrooms. After interviewing several contractors, we hired Greenworks to redo all three rooms, and expand the kitchen into what had been a separate dining room. Our contractor was Avi Ben-Shabat and I can't say enough good things about him and his crews. During the proposal/estimate process he told us up front that he wouldn't be the cheapest (though he was close), but told and showed us in easy-to-understand detail what would make his work stand out and be worth any extra expense. He showed us photos of bathrooms and kitchens that were in much worse shape than ours and what he did with them. He was also able to look over our dated rooms and make some very interesting suggestions as to how to improve their layouts and make them more efficient. Another contractor we interviewed (who I won't name here) tried to pressure us into making a decision right then and there, and also tried to dangle an Angie's List discount in front of us but also said he couldn't even apply for that unless we signed a contract with him first. We resented the pressure and guessed the Angie's List thing was a bait-and-switch, and sent him on his way. Avi didn't play those kinds of games. He stressed from the outset that we could take our time making a decision and start the job when we were ready. He also laid out all the costs we would be incurring and when each payment would be due. Even with having to estimate the cost of cabinets and countertops, he was pretty close to what those things ended up costing us. We had an active role in the design process but never felt like he was just going to do what we asked, whether it was a good idea or not, and that's exactly what we wanted in our contractor. He's the pro, not me, and part of his job is to tell me if an idea is bad.

He and his crew were friendly and professional the entire time. They took great care to protect the other areas of our house from dust and debris, and cleaned meticulously at the end of each workday. In fact they left our garage cleaner than it was when we moved into the house! Special shout-outs to Gil, Anthony and Julio, all of whom were genuinely great to have around. We actually miss them. Avi has different crews for different jobs - one for demolition, another for tile installation, etc. The only real hiccup in our job was discovering that the pipes under the house were galvanized and although they weren't in urgent need of replacement, we did it because it made sense, with the floors and walls already exposed. We hired a separate plumber for that and he and Avi worked together to coordinate that piece of the work.

All the guys did great work, only took days off when the weather prevented them from doing what was scheduled and once when someone had a family emergency. They even worked weekends on occasion to keep us on schedule. We fully trusted them in our home and we'd go out and leave them there to work. We even left town for a week and at the end of each day they'd text us to let us know we could turn our security system back on.

Avi was always there with suggestions and thoughts on design, paint colors, etc. He also talked us OUT of things he thought would be more expense than they were worth. "If you do it this way, you'll save $500," etc. We really appreciated that. He never tried to upsell us unless it really made sense, and the biggest add-on (removing two existing windows in the kitchen and replacing them with a single central window), was at my suggestion, not his. He went with us to the home design store and helped us pick out showerheads and all that stuff. We bought the major appliances on our own but always with his input.

Avi was on top of every detail. More than once we saw him directing his crew to fix something we wouldn't have even noticed. After the cabinets were installed I noticed that the sink wasn't quite centered under the window - it was off by 3/8". Avi got the cabinet guys to come back and shift the entire section of cabinets 3/8" to get it lined up, and looking at it now you can't tell where or how they did it (though I know).

With any job this size there will be a few minor issues after it's done - in our case a couple of cabinet doors with defects and some wood trim that's settled and needs to be recaulked, but overall the job went extremely well - we're really shocked, frankly, that there were no major issues or times work had to be stopped to address some problem. Took a little longer than the initial estimate but that's how these things always are. This was our third reno and hopefully our last. Avi made clear to us that if anything comes up, even if it's two years from now - he'll be here to resolve it. I was fortunate to find Green Works Construction & Design with a simple Google search. Their fantastic contractor, David Stein, met with me and we covered every aspect of the project. He was very honest and upfront about time-frame, cost, and the requirements of the job, including potential pitfalls given the age of my property. I shopped around a bit and settled on David and Green Works. The end result was far beyond what I'd hoped.

The project was to convert my garage at my Studio City home (original structure built in 1926) into a legal, modern ADU (accessory dwelling unit). My intention was to create a studio apartment with a full kitchen, bathroom, and living space that could be rented out. I already had the plans ready to go, but David made some suggestions that vastly improved the original concept.

Once the work started I was continuously amazed by the speed and professionalism demonstrated by the work crews led by their incredible foreman Jose Elias, who, like David, always made himself available to me and walked me through every step of the process. My concerns were his concerns.

Because of the age of the building, the City inspectors called for some work that hadn't been planned or budgeted for, and they got the work done at the lowest cost possible to me.

I consider myself lucky to have worked with David and Jose and highly recommend them to anyone considering any sort of construction or upgrade. More...

We have hired many contractors in the 28 years that we have lived in our Pacific Palisades home, but none have come close to Greenworks Construction and Design in terms of excellence of results, speed, cleanliness and professionalism. Based on many positive reviews, we chose Greenworks to do significant remodeling, including reconfiguration and renovation of our master and guest bathrooms, re-tiling our kitchen, replacing kitchen flooring, repairing and refinishing hardwood floors throughout our two-story house, installation of new ventilation, and more. We lived in the house throughout the job, so cleanliness and timeliness were critically important. Itay Farber—who was in charge of the job for Greenworks—is a knowledgeable, organized, trustworthy and engaging fellow with an excellent eye for design. He efficiently scheduled work to avoid delays, and always responded quickly when we had a comment or question. He has good relations with materials suppliers and was able to obtain significant discounts and quick deliveries. The crew doing the work was also top notch—professional, timely, friendly and just a pleasure to work with. We particularly appreciated the precise tile work. Even demolition was worthy of note, with the Greenworks crew carefully sealing off work areas with plastic like a clean room, and meticulously putting back furniture and cleaning up afterwards. The framed pictures on our walls looked cleaner after the job than before. The entire project was completed on time and on budget, and the results are beautiful. I do not know many people who can say they love their contractor at the end of a remodel or construction project. After working with Avi and his team, we can say he was amazing from start to finish - and always had a smile on his face & a problem solving, get it done right attitude.

We received about 7 bids with a wide range of estimates on the same set of plans before we decided to work with Greenworks Construction. We felt really good about moving forward with the team when finally pulling the trigger - not because they were the cheapest, but because of the level of expertise and professionalism we saw in our initial meetings when reviewing his work. I can say this was a theme throughout the entire project and not just in our initial conversations.

Avi has great relationships in the industry and was able to guide us with confidence through each step of our remodel. Never the cheapest, but always quality. I like to think I have great attention to detail, and it was so nice working with a contractor who was even more precise than I was on certain details of my home.

Time is always a concern with remodels, especially when you just want to get back home, and were lucky to stay on track in this area too. Even when we moved back to the house a few weeks before the project was done, the crew was very respectful and understanding. Also, it is worth noting we have 2 small children under the age of 3 - so having Greenworks construction work with us and around us in the final weeks of the project was a huge plus. I knew this was a risky move with the kids, but it all worked out a seamlessly as possible given the circumstance. There is no place like home, even when it is still under construction!

I had my house remodeled with Greenworks construction and I am very happy with the results.
I worked with Omri on that project and he helped me through the whole process: design, details, fixtures, choice of tiles, space design. Everything went very smooth. I had the whole house remodeled and it is exactly how I had pictured it. Greenworks made my dreams come true.
The crew are very professional and fast. Great people! It was a very big project but I am amazed by the work they performed.
My house is now very open and modern, exactly what it needed. Greenworks is on the high price but quality comes with price. We did our kitchen remodeling with GreenWorks Construction & Design. Before signing with them, we spoke and checked another two contractors with very good reviews as well. We decided to go ahead with this company because when we met Itay (the project manager), his knowledge, enthusiasm, and experience in his previous remodeling projects did match our ideas. And their price was very competitive. The project included: wall removal between kitchen and dining room, the entire kitchen demolition, the entire kitchen/laundry/bathroom re-design, replacement of existing flooring in the kitchen & dining room and electrical panel upgrade.

Itay spent a lot of time with us especially during the first stages of the design, he worked with our ideas and offered several suggestions to improve the project and to keep it within budget, without affecting the quality. He referred us to several suppliers that they have been working with, which made our life easier. He accompanied us to different stores to pick out fixtures and appliances and made great suggestions. We are very happy with the top quality of all the supplies he helped us select. Itay followed up and oversaw step by step the remodeling to satisfy our requests. He was always available in case we had a question or to offer very useful advice. He did a great job and most importantly, he could keep it within budget!

The crew was great! Several sub-contractors involved and all of them very knowledgeable, professional, courteous and trustworthy. Particularly Adar and his guy Israel, they were always available to answer any questions or concerns we might have had. They always solved any problem that came up during the remodeling and they made sure to clean-up after each day of work.

The team at Greenworks Construction & Design (Tomer was my main contact) are incredibly passionate about their work and very professional. They came to the table with amazing ideas that complimented what we were thinking and were honest with their opinions when they thought they might have a better idea. That was very appreciated. There were no hidden additional costs once the contract was signed and all of the work was done by their crew (no sub-contractors!).
