A pleasant venue for music or film. We went to a contemporary music concert and found the sound and acoustics were very good although it was quite difficult to see the performers from the back as the seating is not raked and the seats are not very comfortable. We didn't use the cafe so I can't comment on that. There is interesting historical information about the pier and, when we visited, a very interesting exhibition by two local textile artists. Pleasant place to visit. Nice cafe, and couple of kiosks at very reasonable prices. Lovely shop opposite the pier selling beautiful coastal Alexander Park worth a visit too.

A lovely pier which has unfortunate brown sea water running underneath it. Lovely little cafe about 1/2 up which has good selection of fresh sandwiches and drinks.

I love Penarth Pier Pavilion! It is a place of art, knowledge and entertainment with a nice healthy cafe! Last weekend there was a wonderful art exhibition, which my family enjoyed. It is always a pleasure to walk around the pier and enjoy the view! More...

I visited this place having driven past it with a friend and decided I needed to go back for myself with my camera and I wasn't disappointed. The amazing old ironworks for a start are fascinating coupling that with the wooden boardwalk and it's just a magical place. At the end of the pier I came across several fisherman who were really enjoying their time and were more than happy to allow me to take some photographs of them.I looked around the bay and along the coastline and took lots of photographs of the scenery things I would never have seen had I not stopped and taken a walk along this beautiful pier I'm looking forward to going back in the height of the sunshine and taking lots more photographs and just enjoying the view. Love Penarth town, pier and cliff top walk. Has to be fish and chips on the pier and ice cream to walk back to the car through the park. Lush day as always.

Who doesn't like a pier? This one may be on the small side, but it is perfectly formed and after the recent restorations in excellent condition. A great place to fish from and the pier presents excellent opportunities to photographers who want good sunrise shots. More...

Tried out the cafe on Sunday.
Menu was slightly different and we indulged with a pasty each and chocolate sponge cake and victoria sponge cake. ...all delicious.
There was a brass band playing at the front of the pier and whole atmosphere was very chilled and relaxed.

We visited on a beautiful day and walked the length of the pier, the rooms were occupied by school this visit but on previous visits we have been in them, I think they have made a massive improvement to Penarth also the restaurant is very goog too.

The Pavillion's nice and spacious, often with attractive displays and artwork. The cinema's cool, too.

The café is overpriced, serves food of variable quality - and has indifferent staff.

I'd suggest you bought your coffee & snacks at Nicola's, in the second kiosk you see as you walk down the pier. Excellent VFM and always a smile & a chat, whenever you call by!

Such a welcoming and friendly atmosphere as you arrive in and in my experience this leads to a relaxing and home from home cinema experience. The screen is smaller than a conventional cinema but perfectly adequate. I personally find that the 'big' cinema experience is a little overstimulating so wonderful if you want the great film but with a little more personalisation and tender loving care...oh and a glass of wine! Just perfect! More...

I was part of the science day at Penarth Pier Pavillion as part of the Mad Science crew. Upon arrival staff were friendly and always willing to help. The building itself was brilliantly laid out with good facilities. I personally couldn't have enjoyed myself more and I hope to return with Mad Science soon! Thanks again to all involved and who helped make it a day to remember for both the staff and the public! More...

Very relaxed enjoyable afternoon listening to the brass bands. Then a little walk around the pier. The only downside was the parking. Had to park right at the top of the hill, whilst having a 2yr old in tow and carrying an eb bass. Is not good More...

This was my first trip to Penarth Pier. I've driven past before but not had the chance to stop. Found the pier lovely to walk along. I had the misfortune of having a nasty fall whilst carrying my 3 year old on our way to the Pavilion resulting in injury to both of us. Rather shaken, I went into the Pavilion to ask for a first aid kit; the staff & manager could not do enough for us - not just myself & my 3 yr old but my husband and other daughter who was very upset. Having kindness and support like that really does make the situation so much easier and I'm very grateful to all who helped. More...

I dropped a £1 coin in between the wooden flooring on the pier, now I’m scared a fish will choke on it. If you see a fish in a somewhat agitated state, with a £1 coin in its mouth, it was my reckless action and I apologise unreservedly
