I had learned to play a few songs on the guitar in my teens but fast forward 20 years and I was keen to pick it up again and learn to play properly with a real understanding of how the guitar works. I have been having lessons weekly with Paul for the past 2 years. He is a really nice (funny), patient and down to earth guy and combined with his immense knowledge of the guitar makes him a great teacher. After 2 years of lessons with Paul and regular practice I am enjoying playing more than ever due to having a real understanding of the guitar, making it possible to improvise as well as play the songs i like. Yes I had to practice but it’s thanks to Paul for getting me going and keeping me going in the right direction. Also he has a great way of keeping it interesting by mixing up the stuff you need to know with the fun stuff.In my experience learning guitar is 50 percent quality tuition and 50 percent practice.
