Pie Central catered for our wedding this weekend in Waxham and were sensational. Mary-Jane is so lovely and was so helpful from start to finish. We went along for a tasting to confirm the menu and she was easily contactable and we felt completely comfortable on the day that everything was under control. Our guests were all served in good time and the food was absolutely delicious. Also very understanding and helpful when sorting out dietary requirements (vegan, gluten free, coeliac etc.). For many of the guests to our wedding the pies from pie central were the highlight, they are that good! Mary-Jane was amazing to deal with, although sometimes you have to bear with her on responses as she is often in the middle of a field serving up delicious pies. When you meet her she is warm and welcoming, I cant recommend her highly enough. During the evening she got concerned that neither the bride or groom had been up to see her, and came to find us to make sure we got our preferred choice! I cannot rave about Pie Central enough. I contacted Mary-Jane to cater for a school fundraising Race Night that I was organising, she was prompt to reply to all my questions and queries and her prices were incredibly competitive. We are thrilled that we chose her to cater for our event, nothing was too much trouble, we had last minute additions to the guest list that Mary-Jane accommodated without hesitation as well as finding a solution to one guest who couldn't eat fat or dairy - no easy task when you sell pie and mash! On arriving at our event our food was served quickly and without fuss, it was piping hot and delicious - every single guest had nothing but compliments for the wonderful homemade pies. I will be recommending Pie Central to everyone and hope that we have an opportunity to use Mary-Jane to cater for school fundraisers again in the future. Many many thanks. xxx More...

We had Pie Central cater for our wedding back in June and friends/family still keep saying how good they were! The pies are absolutely delicious (best in Norfolk! ), made with love and served by the nicest team. We also had canapes which were equally delicious and beautifully presented. The van itself is also a great addition to any wedding/event, so beautifully restored. It made our lives so much easier in the planning process knowing that MJ was so organised and could cater for different allergies/diets we threw at her. We cannot recommend her enough. Lynda and I wanted a 'hand-made' feel for our wedding near Bury-St-Edmunds in May 2017. Eventually, we discovered Pie Central, who provided the perfect accompaniment. Mary-Jane and her team fed nearly 150 guests, and we couldn't have been happier with the service. The delicious pies are one of the key memories that people have taken away from the wedding, and catered to everyone's tastes.

Using sustainable meat from a butchers we knew and loved, they were able to accomodate all of our (sometimes hysterical!) requests for every kind of dietary requirement. They worked with us to put together a menu, giving us a sample of the pies on offer. The deserts were mouth-watering (and the brownies enormous!), and they served bacon/halloumi rolls for those who had danced up an appetite in the evening.

We had to adjust our plans as it became clear that the weather was not going to be on our side, and Frances (the converted Salvation Army van) was able to pull up close to the venue to serve people quickly. The Pie Central team worked efficiently with the additional catering helpers we'd drafted in (who were impressed by their efficiency!)

We have kept following the exploits of Frances the pie van on social media, and are looking forward to another chance to taste the Pie Central pies when they roll up near us. More...

MJ’s pies are absolutely amazing, I’ve had the butternut squash and spinach pie on several occasions and have also tried one of her specials; beef and chorizo with butterbeans all of which were delicious and came complete with yummy mash and gravy!

Pie Central - well what can I say, only excellent - we had a corporate lunch for about 75 peeps - we had 5 variety of pies and all were delicious, along with the mash, peas and gravy.

We recently used Pie Central for a corporate event in Swaffham and would highly recommend them. Mary-Jane's communication throughout the planning & preparation of our event was excellent & continued up until the day. The pies were absolutely delicious, I would probably say one of the best I have ever tried. Served with a choice of sides - mash potato & vegetarian gravy or salads. The food was served in biodegradable boxes with wooden cutlery which looked great & environmentally friendly too! All went down brilliantly with over 90 hungry guests, who were extremely impressed. Mary-Jane McDonnell makes the most delicious gourmet pies! I am not usually a pie fan, especially now I have to eat gluten free, but once aware of the issue Mary-Jane altered her recipe to accommodate, and completely won me over with her pies. I have never tasted anything so delectable. The pastry was crisp and golden and the fillings were a wonderful flavour combination. There were chicken with smoked ham and leek or butter nut squash roasted with rosemary before being combined with feta, spinach and various other ingredients to create something akin to a dream. My friends assure me that the non gluten free ones are also good, with a succulent steak and ale filling, which had braised overnight, proving very popular. All this is served in delightful cardboard containers, with a generous helping of creamy mash and some scrumptious minted mushy peas. The wooden knives and forks add to the overall feeling of wholesome, nourishment. I really can't wait for the return of the charming Pie Central van and Mary-Jane's pies. More...
